Bio and Links
I was born and raised in Iowa, but have called CA home for over 25 years.
I am new to family history research, but I am hooked!
I recently made some connections on Find A Grave and am quickly learning what a great tool it is in searching through family history.
I also discovered I have a passion for indexing (and photographing) local cemeteries. If we all do our part, the information each of us needs will be right at our fingertips.
Thank you to those responsible for this fabulous website. What an incredible tool and service you provide!

Dear Ancestor

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
on polished, marbled stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I'd exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
one hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
and come to visit you.

110056035 Elizabeth "Bettie" Smith, Fragola
I am sending a request for transfer of ownership for #110056035. She is my great X2 aunt on my father's side and I would like to connect her to her family and to have her on my page, so it's easier for my mother and father to access.
It has taken me some time to find her, name changes can drive one nutty, lol
I thank you for everything you have done on find a grave and in helping me find her. May you always walk with the angels.
Thank you.

You may want to save a picture before I take it down. That is a small cemetery and Isabelle Rose is the only one who could possibly be her buried there. I don't keep all the pictures after I add them. Message me again and I will take it down for you.

Isabella McLean Silva # 84344964
I am pretty sure that Isabella Silva was married to Jacinto "Jackson" Sylvar # 87916429. Our great aunt, Elizabeth Mutter was their servant. Her brother, Peter (our grandfather) lived with them, as well. They are all listed on the 1880 census. Jackson was a Deputy Sheriff and Isabella was disabled from a train accident.

Elizabeth later sued Jackson Sylvar's estate, claiming she was married to him after his first wife died.

My grandfather, Peter, married an Ida 'Silvee' and we think she is somehow related to this Sylvar family. It seems too coincidental that Peter & Ida's son was named John JACKSON Mutter, though I can't fathom the connection, as I can't find the Sylvar's had children. I have some documentation to share, but it is too much for this post.

I am very interested to know how you gathered the data to create memorials for the people who do not have plot information. Could you share that process? Any help would be appreciated,
