I was born and raised in Cortland, Trumbull Co., Ohio to my wonderful parents, Lawrence Ralph Stiles and Bonnie Annalee McIe. |
I attended West Virgina University in Morgantown, WV (where my parents were both born) and graduate school at UMASS,Boston, while living in Somerville, MA (with a brief stay in Nashua, NH.) In 2001, I moved to New Port Richey, FL where the thought of shoveling snow makes me smile, realizing that it is just a memory!
I took on my mother's labor of love in researching family after she passed away in 1999. I fondly remember sitting at my grandmother's kitchen table listening to family stories while my mother, grandmother, and great grandmother sat drinking their coffee. I realize now that I should have paid better attention. How often does someone get to sit and be part of a four generation conversation!
If there is any way that I can help other people in the research of their family, please don't hesitate to contact me. I know what it is like to "dig" around in cemeteries with the hope of finding that long-lost relative.
May God bless you all as He has me by allowing me to relive all my wonderful childhood memories.

I took another photo of this plaque and headstone today; now I'm mystified. It cleaarly reads S EVANNAH STILES PRICE 1862 1956.
Yet the memorial is for Sarah Evelyn Stiles Price. There are a number of records on Ancestry for S Evannah, and a death record for Sarah Evannah.
Re that Stiles graveyard I mentioned: I recently read that all but the fieldstones were removed to Center Strafford cemetery. Whatever did I see that I thought was a headstone? Must be my frame of reference.

Are you still wandering through cemeteries? There's a cemetery way back in the fields on the Stiles farm on Parker Mountain Road (rt 126) that I hope to photograph one of these days. I just need to take my courage (and camera) in hand, knock on a door, and obtain permission to do so. The only Stiles cemetery on rt 126 in the NHOGA listing mentions "site removals," however, from the road,I think I can see headstones.

Always, my pleasure.

Merry Christmas to you too.

Ida Grace Bennett Anderson was one of my great aunts. Would you mind transferring her memorial to me? I'd really appreciate it!

Okay great, thanks. :)

Sheila, hi! I notice that you've photographed a few grave markers in Bennett Cemetery and I wondered if you might help me straighten something out. Do you know if Bennett and Oak Grove are the same cemeteries? Both are in Banks district, and I've found SEVERAL duplicates where people have memorials here on Find A Grave in both cemeteries. Admittedly, I don't think I've ever seen any of the Oak Grove memorials with actual headstone photos posted, so I'm not sure if this is just misinformation on the part of the creator of the memorials, or if maybe the cemeteries are actually the same one and Find A Grave just has it separated for some reason? Sorry, hopefully that's clear enough that you understand what I'm asking. I'm not from WV and have never been so personally have no clue!
Anyway, thanks for any help!

I connected Elva to her parents, she married Thomas Brewitt and I was adding their records. Hope that was ok. Pam

I am developing a history website for the city of Rainier and one page lists Rainier cemeteries with links to Find a grave. I would like to use your photo of the Woodbine Cemetery sign. I will give you credit as the photographer.

Hi, I have been using the edit option to request transfer of my gg grandmother's Memorial page and am not sure that you are receiving them. Could you please transfer my gg grandmother to me please so I can do her bio and connect the rest of our family. Thank you Find A Grave Memorial 77037460.
