In the spring of 2010, I became interested in finding out more about my father's family. My g-g-g-g grandfather, John P Lyle, settled in Paulding Co, Georgia, sometime before 1840. It is thought that he received land in the 1832 land lottery of the Cherokee lands. I worked on the LYLE family tree and then started looking for the graves of my extended family. I spend the majority of my time looking for graves in Paulding County and the counties that surround Paulding, such as Haralson, Polk, Bartow, Carroll, Cobb and Cherokee. Now that I am a retired teacher, I have found this to be a great way to fill in those extra hours I now have in my life. |
I have to give credit to my brother, Tom 'CC' Lyle, and to my 1st cousin once removed, Dianne Eberhardt, for allowing me to use a lot of their genealogy research information in several of my FAG memorials.

|Dianne Wood||Draft Cards|
I read on Ancestry that the draft cards that have two sides are not correct with the front and backs. Somehow when they were scanned the wrong back got with the fronts. I can't remember if it is the one before the front or the next one, but just wanted to alert you to that fact. Also you could see the front better if you edit it to be closer up.

Thanks for posting The image of the WWI draft registration card for Lewis Franklin McDonald. So I take it then that that his tombstone is missing or unidentifiable?

You sent me a request for correction on him. Are you related to him? He's my great grandfather.

I received a name edit for Jim. What is your relation to him? He is my step-father's father and I have been looking for information on his family. If you are related, would you please share any information on him that you have? My step-father could give me very little information on his family.

Always welcome. I like to take the marker and the lot itself when I can. If you look behind Noble and a little to the left you see that flat double marker with the urn in the middle. That is Barbara and Jane Holland that I mentioned.

If you have a record of my grandfather that I don't have, I would appreciate you sharing it with me. I only met him once. Thanks!

The suggested edits made to entry. The birthplace on the death certificate shows Fannin Co., GA, not Cherokee County, as you provided. Is there proof otherwise for Cherokee ?
Disregard. I see now that Clifford is a female. It's just a bit confusing but I certainly can't talk about confusing names!

Spouses? One of them is female? Not judging but I thought maybe brothers. Are you sure?
