In the spring of 2010, I became interested in finding out more about my father's family. My g-g-g-g grandfather, John P Lyle, settled in Paulding Co, Georgia, sometime before 1840. It is thought that he received land in the 1832 land lottery of the Cherokee lands. I worked on the LYLE family tree and then started looking for the graves of my extended family. I spend the majority of my time looking for graves in Paulding County and the counties that surround Paulding, such as Haralson, Polk, Bartow, Carroll, Douglas, Cobb and Cherokee. I have found this to be a great way to fill in those extra hours I now have in my life as a retired person. |
I have to give credit to my brother, Tom 'CC' Lyle, and to my 1st cousin once removed, Dianne Eberhardt, for allowing me to use their genealogy research information in several of my FAG memorials.

Thanks for the research and posting.
Arthur Edgar (Ed) Eberhardt is my Grandfather on mom's side. The picture of his mom (Fanny Elise Sabine (Hommert) Eberhardt is beautiful. Grandpa Art could weave a spellbinding story second to none. He had a laid back drawl together with an adventurous spirit. Whenever he perused a map his eyes lit up. He was an accomplished logger& woodsman. He also played the concertina quite well and I still remember the twinkle in his eye when he made music. Like many who edured the depression they knew hard, hard times. Honored to be part of this heritage.

We found this information on the following WEB Page: Http://cemeterycensus.com/nc/gran/cem044.htm
Davie Grave Yard - Location - from Oxford - take Hwy 158W through Berea; turn right on SR 1309; turn left on SR 1311; turn right on SR 1316; turn left on SR 1314 across SR 1313 into Person County. Approximately 1/10 mi. across Person County line turn right onto farm path (old barns on left). Drive approx. 500 yards to open field on the right. Cemetery is to the left of the path across from the open field.
Canvassed by Kitty Humphries, January 1995. This cemetery is overgrown and not easily identifiable. It is actually inside Person County about 1/10 mile.
There are five unmarked graves.
According to this site, Hannah is buried here. Is this correct or is she buried in the "William S Huff Cemetery" as you show???
We wonder if Martha [Snipes] Huff could be one of these graves??? We can't find any information on where Martha is buried.

Yes, I would like very much if you would transfer my g-g-something grandparents Robert I Farr and his wife Louise Alice Timmons Farr to me. Thank you!
|Bob L||RE: Messages|

|Julia Ather||RE: John T. Lyons|
Hi, and thanks for getting back with me. The link you gave just is for someone's submitted family tree in FamilySearch. This isn't really a source, and there is no documentation given for the information in the tree. Everything could very well be correct, but I have no way of knowing. I've certainly seen all kinds of mistakes in family trees in Ancestry. So if you can give me a good source for John's middle name, I'll add it.
|Julia Ather||John T. Lyons|
I got your edit about John's middle name being Thomas. Could you please tell me your source of that detail? Thanks.
