In the spring of 2010, I became interested in finding out more about my father's family. My g-g-g-g grandfather, John P Lyle, settled in Paulding Co, Georgia, sometime before 1840. It is thought that he received land in the 1832 land lottery of the Cherokee lands. I worked on the LYLE family tree and then started looking for the graves of my extended family. I spend the majority of my time looking for graves in Paulding County and the counties that surround Paulding, such as Haralson, Polk, Bartow, Carroll, Douglas, Cobb and Cherokee. I have found this to be a great way to fill in those extra hours I now have in my life as a retired person. |
I have to give credit to my brother, Tom 'CC' Lyle, and to my 1st cousin once removed, Dianne Eberhardt, for allowing me to use their genealogy research information in several of my FAG memorials.

You are welcome. I also posted a picture of Willie M. Whitley whose gravestone was beside Sarah & Matthew Whitley in that plot.

I recently began researching the genealogy of my family. You told me that you were volunteering in the capacity finding grave sites. and I found that you have added my father and a photograph. The photo is one of my favorite images of him.
Thank you Sandy,

Thanks so much. I just love getting these families linked together and with pictures too.

Just checking to see if you might be willing to transfer Josephine to me. She is my GGA. Her maiden name is Whitton. My maiden name is also Whitton. I have a lot of information on all the Whittons and Embry family, plus a lot of pictures. I could get this family linked together and add additional info on them. My father often spoke fondly of his Aunt Jocie. My father was born in Texas, I was born in Oklahoma. We have a lot of family ties to those two states. Jocie's brother, William Inman Whitton is my direct line he is my GGF. My father's middle name is also Inman, although on most records it is spelled Enmon and he went by that spelling all his life. Thank you so much for the work you do to preserve these records. I am writing my personal history and I am working on these families now.

I'm sorry but I thought that by including the link to the SCV Camp 1397 website concerning Pleasant C. Lyle, that you were aware they were associating him with the South Carolina unit. I realize that you were simply relying on the information from another source which, in this case, happens to be incorrect. I apologize for the misunderstanding.
I have not been able to determine if Pleasant C. Lyle had Confederate service. If you happen to know of his service, would you please pass that along to me?
|Garrett and Trisha Sullivan||RE: Elizabeth Wagner Camp parents|
I did find on ancestry.com several references to her parents being Thomas Camp and Susanna D Waggoner. I'm curious why her maiden name wasn't Camp. The really odd thing is that she married Joseph Camp! I haven't been able to find any relation between Thomas Camp (her father) and Joseph Camp (her husband).

You recently posted "Elizabeth Camp's father was Thomas Camp 1765 Orange Co, NC -1823 Jackson Co, GA and her mother was Susan Wagoner 1767 Rutherford Co, NC- ?
Since Camp is her married name, I got that Wagner/Wagoner is her maiden name. Would her Father be a Camp?
any help or clarificaiton is appreciated.
