In the spring of 2010, I became interested in finding out more about my father's family. My g-g-g-g grandfather, John P Lyle, settled in Paulding Co, Georgia, sometime before 1840. It is thought that he received land in the 1832 land lottery of the Cherokee lands. I worked on the LYLE family tree and then started looking for the graves of my extended family. I spend the majority of my time looking for graves in Paulding County and the counties that surround Paulding, such as Haralson, Polk, Bartow, Carroll, Cobb and Cherokee. I have found this to be a great way to fill in those extra hours I now have in my life as a retired person. |
I have to give credit to my brother, Tom 'CC' Lyle, and to my 1st cousin once removed, Dianne Eberhardt, for allowing me to use their genealogy research information in several of my FAG memorials.

Although John Weaver Crayton's CSA marker gives his death year as 1864, it is clear he survived that year. He appears in both the 1870 and 1880 censuses in Paulding County. He also appears in the Paulding County tax digest. It is far more likely that a simple transcription error produced the 1864 date. J W Crayton probably died in 1884.

Thanks for writing. I sent it in to Find a Grave and they removed it.
Thank you for your contribution to the McCain family at New Pentecost United Methodist Church Cemetery in Winder. I have accepted your edits and the memorials should reflect the changes soon. Again, thank you!

I have finally got all the accidental acception corrected. I decided to do what I swore to myself I would never do and that is reference the census to prove something. When you have time please review Ella's updates. I have embedded links to all the relevant memorials and explain indepth who is related to whom. This is the third time I have had to correct the links that other contributors "sneaked" in on me. Not meaning you. I love your edits. 99.9% of the time you are correct. I love your photograhy also. Thanks for all you do here.

I was trying to let you know that the person who left the "flower" was wrong and when I declined the one edit for her name ALL the edits were sent as accepted, not just yours. So the Edit system has another glitch. The data I have on the memorial is correct. The Anonymous Flower was left by a contributor that has left hundreds of those type flowers. The majority of them have incorrect data. At least on my memorials. When I confronted her last year and made her remove her incorrect data on one of my memorials she told me, in not so many words, to catch her if I could. What she did was removed all the Flowers that had her name on them and recreated them with the name "Anonymous". It's time for me to find her email she sent and turn it over to Admin. Bye Bye Flowers! and Bye Bye HER. I do appreciate your Edits they are very helpful. Thanks
Now I got to go find the other edits that got accepted and see if they were correct.

Are you related to the Peacocks? I see where you added a document from my great-uncle, Judson Matt Peacock, and I was curious to see if we are related. And hope if you have any extra information.
