Bio Photo Fifth generation Iowan. I enjoy taking time to research the family relationships behind each photo that I capture, using data from public records to add and suggest links and corrections where appropriate.

If you are related to a person whose memorial I have added, please do not hesitate to request a transfer. I am pleased to have been able to honor your loved one's memory in some small way.

Dalton / Lorack
Just checked my 'edit' button and discovered the number of Dalton/Lorack corrections you posted there. I presume these are like those for Mary Ellen, wherein my records show she was to be buried in the New St. Joseph Cemetery, and you state she was buried in Oakland Cemetery.

As I understand what I learned while in Iowa City the two are actually on the same grounds, e.g. next to each other, with the old St. Joseph across the road. My info on Mary Ellen came from her death record. Is it possible her headstone is in the New St. Joseph side of Oakland?

This would be hard for me to check from California, so could you do it please. If my memory turns out to be correct, we could redo the cemetery information to note that NSJ is now part of O, or something similar.

It is hard to know exactly what to do when two items are hard to argue with. I await your input, and will keep the other Dalton/Lorack edits active until I hear from you. Grace

Thank you for the cemetery correction for Mary Ellen (Dalton) Schoettlius. Her death records says she would be buried in the New Saint Joseph Cemetery, which I believe is now part of the Oakland Cemetery now. Grace

Hi Heather,

I'd certainly be happy to have you transfer "Vinnie" Bridenstine's Find A Grave memorial to me.

Her inlaws, James Bridenstine and his first wife, Susan Hoover, are my gg grandparents. Her brother-in-law, John William Bridenstine, is my maternal great ggrandfather. It was John William Bridenstine's wife,

Ella (White) Bridenstine, who did all the letter writing and researching the family genealogy. It is her records that I used to start my tree when I became interested in the family. I knew my great grandmother Ella Bridenstine and have many fond memories of visiting her at her home in Santa Ana, California. It is from my great grandmother's records that I have her first name spelled with only one *N" but it certainly sounds like it could have two since both the gravestone and directory have it shown that way.

Thanks so much,
Sharon Garrison in California

Lavinia (Vinnie) is my great grand aunt and I'd be interested to know what information you have on her since it appears to differ from what I have.
