| Bio and Links | | I've been working on my family lines since I was a little girl and pestering my grandma with all kinds of questions. I am the mother of 6 children and 14 grandchildren. My mother-in-law gave me her records a few years ago and now I am also researching my husband's lines as well. Because of the volunteer work I do I spend what time I have left doing research. I relish the trips doing "field" work and often find myself in unusual places and far from home. Living in Texas is not close to where my ancestors lived (Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, etc.)but I do enjoy the traveling and finding new cousins. | |

 | RE: Edward Bittner Hi Teresa,
No, sorry, I don't have a photo. Both Edward Biittner and his wife, listed as Hattie, are in the Social Secuirity Death Index with the surname spelled Biittner. I went to school with some of their grandchildren and they spelled the name Biittner. That is not to say that Edward and Hattie did not spell it Bittner. Some of their children may have added an "i". to the name. Their son, Denis, is buried up in Minnesota with the marker spelled Biittner. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=biittner&GSfn=denis&GSbyrel=all&GSdyrel=all&GSob=n&GRid=60858181&df=all&
And, if memory serves me, this is a link in Wikipedia, to their son, Larry, who played Major League Baseball. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Biittner

 | RE: Jehu Harlan, Jr I sent you a reply to the last email you sent me but the "delivery failed permanently". Have a lot of troubles with sending emails. Will try this route. Yes, I received your message. Thanks a bunch for transferring Jehu's memorial to me, I really didn't expect you to do that. You were doing a great job. Also thanks for the obit. I have a copy of it taken from a newspaper in Iowa but it is hard to read, been copied from a copy too many times. Also have one that is in The Burwell Tribune. It is very similar but has some wording differences. One of them is that it has his name being John Harland. I also have a copy of what you sent me from History of Butler County. It is noted that his obit says he came to Rock Co., NE in 1885. Some say they came in 1886. Two of his sons (John Riley and James Evans) obits say 1887. I live about 5 miles from where they homesteaded in Rock County. Fact is, I live on the ranch where his son James Evans (my great grandfather) lived for 53 years. Thanks again! Keep up the good work. | | | Glenn Harris

 | Harlan gravestones Hello Theresa,
We would be delighted to turn over all the Harlan sites to you as they are not related to us at all. We do it because of the requests in our area, it's fun to help others as well. Let us know what number you want any or all of them turned over to you. In the meantime I will go ahead and make the changes you requested.
