I have been working on genealogy for about 45 years and my husband, Roy, and I are also working on a project to identify and photograph burial places of Civil War veterans in Iowa. He is the State Graves Registration Officer for the Iowa Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW).|
If you are a relative of someone I have posted a memorial for--that is NOT a relative of mine--I would be glad to transfer management to you. I do have a personal policy of NOT transferring memorials to anyone who is listed as Anonymous, though.
Please feel free to use my photos as you like, but I would appreciate photo credit if you use them on another website.
If you have a comment, question,or correction to any of my Memorials, please use the Edit on the Memorial page. It is much easier to find the correct person that way. Additions and corrections which are phrased rudely as demands may be ignored.

I would be happy to manage William's memorial. We are 1st cousins 4x removed - does that count? Not a direct descendants but I'd be happy to mannage it if you would like to transfer. Thank you again for all the work you are doing documenting these Civil War graves.

Thank you so much for adding his listing to findagrave. When I looked for him in 2013 - not found. I'm so thrilled to locate him and see a photo of his headstone! Thanks to Pat Phipps, as well, for her photography. (I've submitted Edits and additional info under the appropriate links). Thank you again for working on the Civil War burials!

I agree. Can't find him in 4th Iowa Infantry either. Whoever posted the photo perhaps was just referring in general to an Iowa regiment? Who knows? I had assumed it was correct but agree with you it is not.

Thank you for the transfer. I will work on some links to family later today!

I would love a transfer for the Rathbuns. I am a distant cousin. I am the archivist for the Rathbun Rathburn Rathbone Family Association and do research on all branches of the family. Not aware of the son, Douglas, mentioned in his obituary so I will be researching that mystery this week.
Thank you so much, Rob

Actually the Ottumwa Cemetery does have Confederate stones. So does a lot of cemeteries in Iowa. In Rock Island Illinois, they have Confederate and Union stones near the arsenal.

Sorry, I gave you the wrong memorial # in my last message. It is 124419894.

Do not remember if I let you know that I took the photo of Charles C. Fay, #22641378. It was very hard to read, but can see his name.
