RE: William K. Ewing - 25449306
Hi Bill,

Thanks for the information.

It is great that people go around to take pictures. Just about all my pictures are dons ted. I can no longer get out to take them.

I immediately confused your William K. Ewing (FG 3 25449306) with William Knox Ewing (FG # 29791300). There are so many William Ewings.

I have set up a limit to do research on my relatives in Gallia, Ohio and their ancestors only if possible. I have to do this to keep my data base and work effort to a reasonable level

Since your William is a relative of mine and he was born in Gallia, Ohio , but moved to Kansas, I will include him in my database but will limit my reseRCH on him after he moved to Kansas.

Thanks,
Jerry

Hi Bill,
Here is a copy of William's Obituary. You might want to include it in his memorial.

Ewing, William - Obituary
William Ewing was born February 26, 1823 in Huntington Township, Gallia County. He married August 1, 1847 to Mary M. White. William's father was William Ewing who served in the War of 1812 and his grandfather was William Ewing, Revolutionary War soldier. William and Mary lived in Gallia County and then for a time lived in Jackson County before moving back to Gallia.
At the age of 39, in August 1862, he enlisted in Co. K, 91st Ohio Volunteer Infantry. He was discharged for disability in November 1863. He was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic and joined the Shenefield Post No. 734 at Ewington.
William and Mary had 11 children, six sons and five daughters. They were James L, Anetta Jane,, Agnes Ellen, Mary Jeanet, Wilmuth L., Dora, Amos, William Harold, Andrew Elmer, John W. and unnamed daughter who died in infancy. After Mary died in 1892 William chose to live with his daughter Jennie (Mary Jeanet Ewing Sweeney), and moved to Cherokee County, Kansas.
William died at Weir City, Kansas, April 15, 1899. His obit said, "Mr. Ewing had been in rather poor health for the past two years, but his disease did not assume a serious turn until about 4 in the morning. He grew
steadily worse until death ended his suffering at 5:30." He was buried at Hosey Hill Cemetery in Weir City, Kansas.

Created obit from Nancy Hank Ewing research and partial obit from "The Modern Light"
1899

Bill...I just completed (as of 31Dec2014) a detailed survey of all known and visible existing Salem Church Cemetery burials for WCOGS. I did not find a grave marker for Maria. There are 4 missing stones; however, none are adjacent to Roecker graves. Her gravestone was not in the WCOGS 1984 survey either.

RE: Wm Arthur Duhl
Unfortunately there is no Milton Twp on Find A Grave for Jackson county. So I put him back in Wellston since it is so close. I have family buried in this same cemetery also, by the name of Wooten. They too lived and died in Wellston. Thank you for uploading the photo, I love to see what folks looked like.
