My uncle, Carl Glee Smith Jr is memorialized at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial in the Philippines. His life was lost during Typhoon Cobra, December 18, 1944 when three ships went down, USS Hull, USS Monaghan and his ship the USS Spence. I have attempted to leave notes at each of the memorials for the 793 sailors who lost their lives that day. I also see many other memorials that no one has left flowers or honored them, I am also honoring those as I have time. There are over 44,033 memorials at that cemetery. May God bless the thousands of families who suffered loss during WW II.|
I am attempting to link many of Smith burials in an effort to help those who are just starting their family search venture. Descending from four Smith branches is a challenge. At the present time, I am linking Smiths from several states from Vermont, New York,Ohio to Illinois, Nebraska and Kansas. From Virginia through Kentucky to Arkansas. From Georgia, Arkansas to Texas.
In addition, I am documenting my Jones from New Hampshire, through Ohio, Illinois to Nebraska.
A few of my family lines are Blatherwick, Farrow, Gilbert, Wood, Kelsey, Evans, Blake, Cady, Watkins, Stewart, McCormick, Jones, Stiles, McDermott, Hoffman, Smith, Black, Brazle, Roth, Martin, Cole, Morgan, Oswalt
If you use my personal photos, please give me credit for the photo, this includes family photos posted as well as cemetery photos. Thank you.

|Richard Arthur Fenner||Jewitt City|
Thanks for adding all those Fenners. I did some more research today and can find no new information to make a determination. Asa's son Frank is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Pawtucket where there are other Fenners belonging to my family. This is another reason I think Asa Fenner is possibly related to me.
|Richard Arthur Fenner||RE: Asa Fenner|
I have him in my data base, but I'm not sure he is part of my Fenner Family. My Fenner Family is English, but there was also a Swiss/German Fenner family who arrived later, settled in PA and then spread to CT, NJ and Ohio. Asa can be found in Griswold, New London CT in Censuses from 1840 - 1880. Although my Fenner Family also made it down to New London County there were even more of the Swiss/German Fenners there. I believe Asa may have had a brother Joshua who was also born in RI and is found in Griswold censuses. I think there is a possibility that Asa is the son of James Fenner (my family) and Sarah Thornton because, if so, he may have been named after a 2nd cousin once removed: Asa Fenner b 1786. That is the only reason I think he could be part of my family. None of Asa's children's names match up with the James Fenner side. What do you know about Asa b 1807?
|Gail||RE: Henry Coffman (Witt Cemetery,KY)|
Henry Coffman, buried in Witt Cemetery, name is listed only as Henry Coffman in all documentation found. It is not proved he was the son of Abraham and Margaret Coffman. In Abraham's will there is not a John Henry listed as a son (would be more than happy to share the actual will).
Henry Coffman married my 3rd and 4th g grandmother's sister, Esther/Hester Bewley.

|Northern Neighbors||Meant to thank you|
for honoring those World War II veterans listed at Manilla American Cemetery and Memorial. Please visit Modesto Neto if you get a moment. He was my cousin's husband.
For daughter Esther - the gravestone has Sept 20, not Sept 10, but I added in the bio area with a notation of the date on the stone.
|Melvin L. Halterman||MEMORIAL TRANSFER|
Thanx very much for the recent transfer of the Elroy Howard See memorial.
|Wayne Love||RE: Peninger|
Elizabeth's last name was also Peninger. Elizabeth and James were 1st cousins. Elizabeth's father, Peter, and James' father, Henry, were brothers.
