Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hello.

My name is Lisa, and I have been transcribing and photographing cemeteries for about 14 years now. Thanks to a Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness volunteer, I found this site. Finally! A place to put my work.

I record cemeteries to help preserve a record of our long, lost loved ones. At a cemetery, years ago, I noticed that several of the 'older' stones would soon be unreadable. I thought that it would be sad if at some point, that person couldn't be found when a genealogist came looking for them.

I don't think that they should be forgotten. I enjoy knowing that I can help someone locate that special 'someone' that they have been looking for. Or, to help them see their loved one's final resting place.

I am only human, and I make my fair share of mistakes. So, if you find an error, please email me, and I will do my best to correct it.

If you have information that you think needs to be added to a memorial, or if it needs to be updated, I will do my best to help out. I will not be bothered in the slightest if you want to add photos to the memorial.

Happy Hunting!

{{{I RECORD ALL THE STONES IN A CEMETERY. THERE ARE STONE MARKERS THAT HAVE LIVING PEOPLE ON THEM. SUCH AS: ONLY ONE SPOUSE HAS PASSED AWAY OR SOMEONE PURCHASED THE STONE IN ADVANCE, ALONG WITH THEIR PLOT.

IF THERE IS NOT A DEATH DATE, THERE ARE MANY EXPLANATIONS:

* THEY ARE NOT DECEASED
* THE DEATH DATE WAS NOT PUT ON THE STONE AFTER THEY PASSED
* THEY REMARRIED AND WERE NOT BURIED WITH THIS PARTICULAR SPOUSE
* THEY MOVED AND WERE BURIED ELSEWHERE
* THEY PASSED AWAY WITH NO LIVING RELATIVES OR FRIENDS TO PASS ON THEIR BURIAL WISHES

AND MANY MORE.}}}

My Internet is so slow, the "I am not a Robot" is unable to make a connection in time for this to go through the regular way.

Fred Green Koshkonong cemetery
Fred is linked to Thelma's memorial 15410997. Thelma's memorial shows joint stone with Fred but that is only info shown on Fred's side. You should be able to link with Thelma and get to see marker with his name. Hope this helps.

Hi again,
I got a copy of his death cert and the year is 1911. It looks like whoever added the stone did not get the dates right, maybe done years later? I added his mother and father's memorial numbers. Tried to do his sister but can't find the screen to do it.

I noticed that the birth year on his stone is 1900 and in the memorial is 1899. Is there a way to synch those years? At some point, I would like to get him transferred to me. On my "to do" list. He was my grandmothers baby brother.

RE: Alta Bay
How confusing! Seems like there were 2 Alta Medley's, both born in Missouri. I believe the one I'm looking for was a twin (twin sister, Alta,....which adds to the confusion) born in 1912, dying in 1999. So I believe that you're right. Alta Bay's parents were John Henry Medley and Margaret Angeline Pittman. It looks like "My" Alta Medley died in Arizona, and had parents Willis and Maude Harrell Medley. So please remove the parent info on Alta Bay. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'll keep digging.

RE: Thomas Wake
Will see what I can find next trip to the Research Center. Looked in my book of deaths in Holt County up to 1981. There are some Wake's, but no Thomas or Nancy.
