I have been tracing my family roots for about 40 years. I was excited to find this site that helps to document and share with others. I am a retired educator...23 years as a math and computer teacher and then 17 years as a district technology director.|
The families I am tracing include the following: Winn, Brantingham, Santee, Ellyson, Schussler, Longenecker, Patterson, McMillan.
I have posted memorials and pictures for the following cemeteries in or near New Philadelphia, Ohio: East Ave, Evergreen Burial Park, Fair St (Ave), Tuscarawas County Home Infirmary, Jerusalem Church, and St Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church plus East Goshen Friends Cemetery near Beloit, Ohio and Damascus Cemetery in Damascus, Ohio.
I can add information and links to any memorial for you, or if I have a memorial for one of your relatives, I'll transfer ownership upon request. (Please give your relationship to the person.) Please make the request via the Edit tab and then Suggest a correction...
A note about bio info: if you submit something to be put in a bio, I will put "Additional information courtesy of ____________". If you don't want your F-A-G name and number on there, let me know.
Feel free to use any of the pictures that I have posted. (It would be nice if you gave me credit for the picture.)
****If you volunteer on this website and decide you no longer want to maintain the records please transfer your records to someone who has an active account and willing to take over the records. (I am one of many willing to take over records.) It would also be a good idea to leave someone instructions on how to make these transfers should you go inactive without warning. (Borrowed from another FAG Contributor)***** Click here for instructions.

|Sandykp||RE: Roland & Thelma Smith|
you are welcome
did you see the smith memorial next to them? Homemade and very interesting. I was looking for inexpensive way to replace some missing stones and admired the Smith one next to yours. Are you family with James & Isabelle?
I figure they might have put that memorial stone together under $100. If you know who did it maybe they can give me pointers and cost involved.

Hi, I live near there and see many photos are needed. Did you use some kind of transcription to post the memorials? Did you post all of them? I have time this summer to maybe go over and row sweep and take pictures. If y ou have some type of transcription list so I know row by row it helps so I can add if a stone is missing or not. Please advise

Hi, Thank you So much for starting my Grandfather's Memorial. I would love to add his Life Legacy to it. However it does not seem to let me. I have added a few pictures to update it. Is there a way you can help on this please?

|Jeff Giambrone||RE: Thomas Smyth Photograph|
Great to hear from you cousin! As I said in my previous message, I am descended from John Smyth, born about 1799, older brother of Thomas. His daughter Catherine Minerva Smyth was my G-G Grandmother. I have a good bit of information on the Smyth Family, I don't know if it is anything you don't have, but will be happy to share. There is a story that I can't find any documentation for that during the Civil War, John's daughters wrote to Thomas asking permission to come live with him - do you happen to know if there is any substance to this story?
I look forward to hearing from you again,
|Jeff Giambrone||Thomas Smyth Photograph|
In the Findagrave listing for Thomas Smyth buried in Circle Green Cemetery, you included a picture. Thomas was the younger brother of my G-G-G Grandfather, John Smyth, and I was wondering where you found the picture of Thomas.
Thanks very much,

could you please send me a copy of the obit so I can add to the memorial, or, if you would rather, I could transfer the memorial to your care.
