Thank you to those of you expressing your appreciation for my military service, as well as for the work on this awesome site. You are so great! When I hear gratitude from people for creating their family memorials and providing cemetery pictures, it inspires me to continue on. I am especially touched by notes like the following:

"I just wanted to thank you for putting the photo of my father's grave on the "Find a Grave" website. Today is his birthday. He is buried in Texas, and I am in Pittsburgh. The photo you posted is the only reference I can find to him online, and it is letting me feel, in some small way, like I am there with him. Thank you so much. It really means a lot to me."

"Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking this picture of my father's headstone. He just now got a headstone after nine years. The picture you took of it was the first time I have seen it. So thank you very much."

THIS IS A CEMETERY

Lives are commemorated,
deaths are recorded,
families are reunited,
memories are made tangible,
and love is undisguised.
This is a cemetery.

Communities accord respect,
families bestow reverence,
historians seek information
and our heritage is thereby
enriched.

Testimonies of devotion, pride and remembrance are carved in stone to pay warm tribute to accomplishments and to the life, not the death, of a loved one. The cemetery is homeland for family memorials that are a sustaining source of comfort to the living.

A cemetery is a history of people, a perpetual record of yesterday and sanctuary of peace and quiet today. A cemetery exists because every life is worth loving and remembering, always.
