Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was introduced to Geneology in 1980. I've been addicted ever since.

The TOMBSTONE and LOT pictures I have placed are yours to use for other geneological purposes to include other sites. Let me know if you would like me to go take better ones or if you want to place yours, is fine.

This site is not called "Find-a-Document".
Documents take up what limited space there is for photographs of the PERSON, HOUSE, or tombstone and GRAVE AREA. Please respect the memorials I manage and resist posting copied paperwork or certificates to where the photographs belong.

If you have some corrections, requests, links, additional info., ect., PLEASE use "EDIT" tabs located on upper right side of each memorial for all these things, not this Bio. page or my Email.

I like to place different kinds of flowers, flags, & things on memorials. BRIGHT RED FLOWERS indicate my family, relatives and V.I.P.'s. I won't usually transfer the memorials with RED FLOWERS unless you are a closer relation than myself AND I see you are an experienced, active and dedicated Find-a-Grave member. Thank you for your time and any help or corrections you can send!!!! !

John Shannon Family pictures
I am wondering where you got the family pictures of John Shannon of Chico, CA. He was my great-great grandfather. His daughter Minnie Shannon was my grandfather's mother. His father was James Alfred Tyler. My grandfather's name was John Archie Tyler born 1901. You listed Ellene Tyler, but did not list the rest of the family, from oldest to youngest; Walter, (Ellene you listed), Alice, Alfreda (Freda), George, Ruth, and the youngest my grandfather John Archie Tyler. Oddly, on the 1900 census, my great grandfather's name is listed as Laurence, but is James Alfred Tyler on the 1910 census.

Thank you so much for putting this information up and for the pictures of my great-grandmother, and her family.

Thank you so much for transferring to me. My Dad died when I was 5 so I have very few memories. I lived with his sister in Ohio in 1963 and 64 so I saw his grave once. Findagrave has been a great help to me. It is nice to visit the site and see his headstone.

Benjamin Dean b. 1760
I think you are right. I think that the Benjamin Dean who was in the Revolutionary War was born in 1760 and was the son of Moses Dean, brother of Benjamin b. 1739.

There is a Benjamin Dean b.1760 in Barnumtown Cemetery, Monkton, Vermont. (Find A Grave Memorial# 45637426). Lots of Deans buried in Barnumtown Cemetery

From " Monkton History" (1882)(
"Ashbel Dean, from New Jersey, came with his brother, Benjamin, to this town just after the war of the Revolution, where he had served six years. He located on the "old stage road" in Barnumtown, which ran near and parallel with road 46. Ashbel was at the battle of Eutaw Springs, Yorktown, and others, an artillery-man, and had his gun taken and retaken several times, though it finally remained with the Americans. He married a daughter of Jehiel Barnum, had a family of nine children, four of whom are now living [as of 1882]. Arzah C., the eldest, is now nearly eighty-six years of age, having been born February 16, 1796. The house occupied by T. N. Dean is the oldest in the village, if not the town. It was built by Capt. Kendrick."

Also, an application for membership to the Sons of the American Revolution by one Leon W. Dean in 1929 quotes the above citation and adds (in the applicant's own handwriting), "I understand that Ashbel was one of three brothers, all of whom, together with their father, saw service in the Revolution, and all of whom were under twenty at the time." The three sons would have been Ezra, Ashbel, and Benjamin (b. 1760), and the father would have been Moses.

A National Archives Microfilm (Publication M246, Roll 122, "Continental Troops Jacket Nos. 74-99, "Independent Companies of Artificers 1777-78, Artificers etc. employed by General Clinton at Forts Clinton and Montgomery" lists Ashbel Dean, Esra Dean, and Moses Dean as "privets", and a Richard Dean (not sure if he is related) as Drummer.

Isaac Shannon, Sr.
My mother was a Shannon. In her line I can document back to my gr gr gr grandfather.(John 1783 Chambersburg PA-1855 Richland Belmont OH). There is a strong possibility that his father was John Shannon (m Agnes Dennison) and his father Samuel Shannon (m Ann unknown)

I have been holding onto info on Isaac Shannon for quite some time hoping that I might find a connection sometime BECAUSE he and my line were all on the Ohio Tax List in Jefferson Co OH in the same years and in the same twp (Shortcreek 1807,8,9,10)
. Seems that both the Isaac Shannon family and my line were in Washington Co PA.

There is a good family tree for Isaac, Sr.(Shannon-Scott Master Tree)by 'Shammy' on and also from ancestry the Endsley-Shannon Family Connection by Nathan Clark Shannon.

I am certainly willing to share my information with anyone who believes that they see a connection.
