Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was introduced to Geneology in 1980. I've been addicted ever since.

I am THRILLED to make transfers to ANYONE provided they are going to improve & take care of the memorials and that I have not placed a RED FLOWER on it. BRIGHT RED FLOWERS indicate my family, relatives and V.I.P.'s. I won't usually transfer these memorials. I'm not picky about relationship, family or not. Just because I walked into a cemetery with a digital camera or I opened a cemetery book and created memorials does not mean I own anything or have the right to be difficult or greedy ....... I promptly fix mistakes and delete doubled memorials, please let me know! These memorials belong to US as a group and they are actually OWNED by Ancestry.com.- not me.

The TOMBSTONE and LOT pictures I have placed are yours to use for other genealogical purposes to include other sites.

This site is not called "Find-a-Document".
Documents take up what limited space there is for photographs of the PERSON, HOUSE, or tombstone and GRAVE AREA. Please respect the memorials I manage and resist posting copied paperwork or certificates to where the photographs belong.

If you have some corrections, requests, links, additional info., ect., PLEASE use "EDIT" tabs located on upper right side of each memorial for all these things, not this Bio. page or my Email. Thank you for your time and any help or corrections you can send!!!! !

I have great respect for "UNKNOWN BURIALS". If you have OLD memorials that are "unknown burial" and you want to move it to the proper cemetery just because you found my memorial posted there, fine, I am still HAPPY to delete my memorial provided yours is older and more complete. I will even move my grave pictures to your memorial if you prefer. Let us NOT have doubled memorials!

My family -back 3 generations: DEAN, WARREN, BUMPUS, CASTERLINE, STREBY, SHANNON, WARNER, SMITH, ROWE, TOWNSEND, BUCKMASTER, WEBB, MILLS, STINEMETZ.

RE: Stuart
Todd, the publisher has confirmed that the photo is indeed fair use. That being said, I would still like to list the photo "courtesy of" you since you were the one who tracked it down originally. I'll list your name as Todd James Dean, unless you prefer something else. Just let me know! And thanks again for your help!

RE: Stuart
I'll have to check my files to see which newspaper articles I have. I'll let you know. I'm also more than happy to share any of the newspaper articles I have if you want/need them. Your book sounds fascinating, BTW, Let me know when I can buy a copy...of all 3 volumes!

RE: Stuart Pierson
Thanks for the response! And yes, I believe that the age of the photo would make it fall under Fair Use. Checking with the publisher to verify, though. Regardless, with your permission, I would like to list the photo as "Courtesy of" you since you were the one that scanned the photo (I'm assuming). If that's the case, would you happen to have a higher-res image than the one currently on this site? Does not appear as though this specific image is large enough to be blown up for the book.

I have two tombstone pictures that might clarify her birth as 1763 and not 1780. I will send copies if you contact me. dkt

Seeking permission to use Stuart Pierson photo you posted
Mr. Dean,

I am currently working with History Press on a book currently slated for a 2017 release. A chapter is devoted to Stuart Pierson and as such, I would be interested in using the photo of Mr. Pierson you posted to his page: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=60233228

If interested, please feel free to contact me so that we can make arrangements for me to get a copy of the photo and, more importantly, how to credit you with the photo.

Thank you in advance. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Benjamin Dean b. Jul. 28, 1772; d. Nov. 14, 1831
I am curious as to where you think this Benjamin Dean fits in. He is Find A Grave Memorial# 72808076. Here is where it gets interesting. His wife Euphemia Gray Dean is the daughter of Arthur Gray and Mary Reading and was born in Amwell, Hunterdon NJ. Rhoda Hayden Dean (# 68197005); who married Orsemus Dean is the daughter of Sophia Gray Hayden (# 26398569) and the granddaughter of Arthur Gray of Kingwood, Hunterdon NJ. The two Arthurs are first cousins. Euphemia Gray and Benjamin Dean were married in Hunterdon County NJ on June 8, 1800.

Steinmetz virtual cemetery
Todd,
First of all I went to thank you for all of the work that you have done in creating this record for the Steinmetz family who settled in Mount Vernon, Knox County, Ohio. I recently identified a Y DNA match for my brother-in-law George Edward Steinmetz to a kit, managed by James Dean, listing John W Steinmetz as the earliest ancestor. Your work allowed me to construct that branch of the Steinmetz family.Since this is a Y- DNA match there is a 27 % chance that the MRCA for our line and the Ohio line is more than 8 generations back. Further back than most trees can reach and too far back for autosomal matches. There is only a 32% chance our MRCA would be 4 generations back. We know that George's grandfather and his brother emigrated from Grossenenglis in the Borken District of Hesse Cassel and their father Melchior remained there. I am in communication with
another Steinmetz line who settled in Missouri, having emigrated from the same village in 1834. I would like to explore further how these families relate. You can contact me directly by email: breiden@dcn.davis.ca.us.

They are buried in the Mound View Cemetery, in Mount Vernon, Knox Co, OH.

I just want to say THANK YOU for taking the time to post these memorials. These are my 3rd Great Grandparents and I did not know for sure that they had actually come to America by way of England from the Potato Famine in Ireland.

I just found out about them recently and then discovered their final resting place as you had taken the time to post these memorials from the cemetery records.

Is it possible that you are also descended from them, I noticed you have posted flowers on most of the family members graves. Thank you for that also.

Carrie
