RE: Headstone photo, Pvt. John Painter (63338244)
Larry:

Thanks for checking, and thanks for the reply. It was just that it looks to be an unusual inscription.

Headstone photo, Pvt. John Painter (63338244)

Dear Mr. Bloom:

Thank you for adding the photos of Private John Painter's grave marker. I've been trying make out the inscription--here's what I have:

Tenderly tread, gently step
O'er the [...] grave
Nobly I've fought, freely bled
Our bleeding land to save.

Would you have saved a higher-resolution image that might reveal the text of the third line? Such inscriptions are often from a Biblical verse, hymn, other religious work, or poetry, but this one has no obvious source, which pricks my curiosity. (One of my ancestor's inscriptions was distinctively Methodist, revealing her affiliation.)

Thank you,

Eric

PHOTO TRANSFER
LARRY:

Please transfer your tombstone photograph on memorial number 82103751 DORIS MARIE (CAILLET) RANALLI to memorial number 9675129 DORIS MARIE (CAILLETS) RANDALL. I can transfer the photo but
it does not give the credit to you, so you do it.
Then let me know so that I can delete my memorial entry. Thanks.

My 2nd-g-grandmother
Martha Husband is my 2nd-g-grandmother. She never married. Am wanting to validate daughter Joanna Husband's paternity, as Joanna was my g-grandmother m. Alexander Deal.

I'm DNA-tested 23andme, FTDNA, Gedmatch, Ancestry. Would love to compare genome data with anyone so related.
