Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm a native of Utah now living in Raleigh, NC. I'm a genealogist and all around history buff.

Please let me know if you find errors in my memorials so that I may correct them. Also please feel free to use any photo's I post as long as it's not for profit(if photo's are used "courtesy" of someone, please note that if you repost them).

I am working on uploading the Price City Cemetery database (Price, UT is my hometown). My goal is to eventually research each burial, post obituary's and link to family members where possible. Besides all my family members this cemetery is the resting place for many friends, and people I knew or knew of, and so is very special to me. As of 7/14/12 THE DATABASE IS COMPLETELY ENTERED FOR BURIALS PRIOR TO AUGUST 2010. Please be careful posting a new memorial in Price City Cemetery with a death date prior to August 2010, as it will likely be a duplication. Sometimes the burial is recorded under a different married name, or a different spelling. There are instances of burials NOT being recorded in the cemetery records (likely one of the "unknowns" listed in the database), however, those are the exception. Only a portion of those I've entered have been researched and completed, but I'm working on it :)

I'm also a contributing Editor for the "Greeks in the West" tree on Ancestry.com. We are attempting to document the Greek immigrants who came to the Western states for the Western Hellenic Family History Library at The Magna Ethnic Mining Museum

If I have posted a memorial for your loved one, please let me know so that I can transfer them to you if they are not a relation of mine. However, due to numerous problems with transfer requests, I have had to adopt the practise of only transfering per Find a Grave's "direct 4 generation rule". I am happy to transfer your immediate family (spouse, children, grandchild, parents, siblings, or grandparents). I will no longer transfer outside of these relationships. Please use the "edit" function on the memorial you are requesting; state your relationship; and include your contributor #.

I am always happy to add or correct information, add links or update information.

Mr. Finley
Please disregard my previous request for help. I have found all of these people in the Price Cemetery with findagrave memorials by yourself. My uncle Chris
Vaseleou will be impressed by your work.
Thank You

Pakas Family
Mr. Finley
As a history buff on the Greeks in Utah, would you have any knowledge about the Pakas Family? Specifically John Pakas b abt 1888 father of Mary Pakas.

Mary Pakas Vaseleou Cates #132335959 was married to Angelo C. Vaseleou #23581845 and had one son Chris A. Vaseleou (My Uncle) who is age 85 and lives in Salt Lake City. She later married Dudley Franklin Cates # 132335955.

I have been unable to find any information about John Pakas, or his wife (name unknown), or his brother Nick Pakas, or Daughter Fern Pakas. They lived in Mohrland and then Hiawatha, Utah. There are 1920, 1930, 1940, census records but then I can find no more data. I suspect many Greeks in Utah died and were buried without records. Family name Pakas also sometime spelled Pakis or Pakes.
Respectfully,
Clifford Harold Pedersen #47678422

RE: Zedekiah Powers
Thanks for responding. I sure wonder who Sport is? I'm thinking it must be a nickname.

Zedekiah Powers
It appears you have information on the Powers family. Edwin Clarence Powers, son of Zedekiah Powers is buried in the Holton Kansas cemetery. There is also a stone that says "Sport 1874-1926" buried next to them. Do you know who Sport is? Is he a Powers? Thanks.

RE: Grand Fathers name is wrong
Lucia, Thank you so much for changing information.
On Lois's death, Millercreek is just out of Price,Utah so she was probably taken to Price Hospital. Thanks again for her, and Orson and Martin Luther Marsing. You are doing a wonderful work and I appreciate it. TG

RE: Zelma Mutton Fruit
Hi Lucia,

There are 3 records for her death:
SSDI:
Name: Zelma Fruit
Birth: 19 Feb 1890
Death: Apr 1974 - Kirkland, De Kalb, Illinois, USA
Civil: Illinois

and Dekalb Co., IL deaths:
Name: Zelma F Fruit
Death: 1 Apr 1974

Both of these records are on ancestry.com.

Also, the cemetery inscriptions for Woodlawn Cemetery, Ogle Co., IL at http://ogle.illinoisgenweb.org/woodlawncemetery.htm
Fruit, Zelma Mutton 1890-1974

I'll be in that area in June or July - can stop and take a photo of the tombstone, if I can find it. I can't imagine there is more than 1 woman named Zelma Fruit in and around Dekalb Co...

RE: Alger Genealogy
We are not exactly related. It is complicated, this is my husbands line and I was trying to match up brothers and sisters of my husbands line and came across your information. I just was linking people based off information on FamilySearch.org. My husbands line crosses with the Warner/Frost line. Mortimer Wallace Warner married Margaret Elzira Frost. One of the sisters of Mortimer married into the Alger line and that is about all of the connection. Thanks for your information.

As you created this memorial I wondered if you might be interested in seeing an entry for her in an old book I found in my local library entitled Biographical Review Otsego county 1893. Let me know if you would like me to forward a photo of the page. Best wishes.
