Bio and Links
I have been looking up the Gouin, Landon, Buck, Ayers , family and more, close friends of mine . I have taken pictures for other people doing my best on each one so that their familys can enjoy having pictures of there loved ones. I have seen so many stones that where in very bad shape that some may never be read again where I took the pictures hoping I could get a nice picture . It is very hard to get real good pictures with the sun being so bright when doing this by myself with no one to block the sun . That I try to get days when it is over cast but some stones are just so very hard to get a good picture. If you have a better picture then mine I can take mine off if it is not my family or very good friends as I will take care of that myself. If you have a pictures you want or for me to try to take a better picture only in lakeview as they have a better way to find stones with the way they number the site 1 to 21 that I will try . So if you can find out what section a stone of your family is in I will try to get it for you . The sextons have phone numbers call if you do not know what section your loved ones are in . Some people that has wrote to me I get very busy & maybe do not get back to you sorry please write me again as I get to much mail . I alway's try to help ok . If you have a better picture then I do I will take mine off . If it is a family site you are working on let me know I will let you have it as long as it is not my family ties .

Sarah Jane (Hawkins) Garn
Hi Rick,

Thanks for the info on Sarah Jane (Hawkins) Garn. I've added it to her bio and gave you credit for sending it.

I noticed that you placed photos of Sarah Jane (Hawkins) Garn and her husband Martin Garn on their memorials. I'm not sure where you got the photos. And I have no problem with the addition of these photos. You may be interested to know that the originals are hanging in my family room. Each original is about 16"x20". I photographed them years ago and sent 4"x6" copies to some relatives who distributed the further including some who added them to web sites.

If you read the bio of Sarah Jane, you'll see the inconsistency with the birth info. I hadn't noticed this before until I reread her age at death. So I put the explanation in her bio before the info you sent.

I have the family photo album which gives her birth date as 15 May 1849. Names and birth dates of the last three children in the album give every appearance of having been added around the time the children were born. At least four different types of ink were used to record the births. However, the names of Martin, Sarah Jane, and their first four children appear to have been written in the same ink, suggesting that the album was purchased after the fourth child was born and that the dates prior to that were recorded all at once, around 1880. This convinces me that Martin or Sarah recorded the information. Both could read and write. So either could have recorded the births.

A lot of the info you sent may be found in my book, The Family of Zadock Hawkins, which I've place in a number of libraries in areas where the Garns lived.

Thanks again for the help.

RE: Bucks Please turn over
Rick,

Understand two things: I just started a new job and I just finished moving to a new house. Both take up a lot of time. I devoted my week days to my new job (with the economy the way it is, I didn't want to get fired), and the weekends and evenings to helping my family get settled in the house. We have a lot of stuff to go through.

OK, my wife's only Buck connection is to an unknown man with the last name of Buck, who married Mary Ellen Faircloth, daughter of Solomon B. and Katherine Prosser Faircloth. Mary Ellen was born about 1865 in Poweshiek County, Iowa. Date of death is unknown. Children are unknown. That is about all we have. Mr. Buck and Mary Ellen were not in the direct lineage of my wife, but were cousins, so we did not spend a lot of time researching her.

Best wishes,

Morgan

RE: Bucks Please turn over
Patience is required - I am currently working for the first time in nearly 2 years. But I will get to it eventually. I will need a list of those memorial sites you wish turned over to you, their names and years of birth/death (for verifying that you gave me the correct person to transfer to you), and your contributor number. Please send it to my email address: graveguy48@aol.com. Thanks.

You do realize that my wife (who is related) will not turn over her immediate descendants. But we will figure out from your list who we can turn over to you.

Best wishes,

Morgan

Helen Allison
Hi Rick,
I noticed you had a photo for Helen M. Allison (also called Lena.) Would you be a descendent? I have done research on her family as her maiden name was McLean. The McLean family lived for a long while in Chase, Lake County, Michigan, but Lena is found living with the Ives family in the 1900 census in Mason County(her aunt's family.) Lena was the youngest daughter to Lochlan and Helen (Haines) McLean. Her mother may have died after she was born or when she was a young age. This I am not sure about. Her father Lochlan remarried in Chase in 1898.
