RE: bose ncknames
Leonard...realized which sister of Henry's was your family after I asked that stupid question. The original Boese/Bose with umlout (sp) over the o were the original. Many of the people doing records could not understand the Germany language as spoken and they really could not spell often times. Some of the Boese family changed the spelling to Americanize it although some of Ernst's brothers did not and held onto the original Boese Loisa(Paul);Willam; Conrad Dietrich;John's family changed within a couple of generations in USA. John's family was reunited with Ernst's family when Dad and Mom started researching the book (they live in Kansas not too far from our family and descendents often attend the Bose reunion such as you attended. The folks also contacted at that time a Karl Boese in Germany who was captured WWII from a German Sub and spent most of the war at a POW camp in Atlanta (near Holdrege) Neb. Kaye

bose ncknames
Yep, Andrew C (Dad) was Bud, bro Floyd was Pete, Lawrence; LJ or Skinny; Mervin L, Tuck; Verna,Boots; Lilian, Johnnie: Jean, Gertie (and this in one generation Of course with the previous generation and their very long German names, they had to be called something. Ernst son of Konrad became Ernest. then we have Jenny(ie), Jessie, Ida, Ted, Chris, Amy, Lucy, Zetta, Ernest, Andy (talk about a character), and Ed. The last two brothers were raised by their older brothers, Chris raised Andy and Henry raised Ed. My youngest brother still goes by Shorty (Conrad Ernest)so the habit of nicknames goes on. Which of the girls does your wife come from???? Kaye

RE: mildred norgren
Leonard...this is great. My parents Andrew Clayton and H. Maxine Bose also published a book about 1986 "Konrad Boese-Bose Family" I have some copies of this book if you have never seen it and would be interested. They began with Konrad in Germany; through his son Ernst. My line continues through Conrad John Henry (Henry) and Andrew C (Bud). Thanks for information. It's so great to actually find things (I have been working on a couple lines of H. Maxine Guessford/Bose (my mother) family and with names like McCauley and Gesford/Guessford and doesn't make much progress. Thanks for your time. Kaye

mildred norgren
Thank you very much for your time and effort in photographing Mildred's tombstone. I am trying to find out where this line (her mother and my grandfather were siblings) It is so satisfying to actually see the proof of where they are buried by observing their stone. Thanks again. Kaye

Thomas Graves photo
Leonard, Thanks so much for the gravestone photo for Thomas Graves, his wife, and child.

Your quick response is very much appreciated.

Keep up the great work that you do. Without your time and efforts, I probably never would have gotten this picture.

Thanks again.
