STRICKLAND, DAISY CANNON - - - A homemaker, mother and grandmother and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, at her home after a short but courageous struggle with cancer. She was born Oct. 8, 1910, in Acy, Ascension Parish. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Visiting at the funeral home, 8 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Gary Rayburn of Community Hospice. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. Survived by her son, Herbert Warren Strickland and his wife, Barbara; grandchildren, Sindee and Charlie Casanova, Springfield, Danell and Carroll Spillman and Les Strickland, all of Baton Rouge, Danny and Vicki Strickland, Plaquemine, and Twilia Andrews; great-grandchildren, Blake and Hope Andrews, Baton Rouge; a sister, Eula Mae Cannon Moran, Baton Rouge; and loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Milton "Red" Strickland; parents, Martin Ansil Cannon and Elizabeth Fairbanks Cannon; four sisters, Ethel Langlois, Elma Parker, Beatrice Gerald and Herminie Davis; and five brothers, Jesse, Lawrence, Thompson, Nelson and Kerney Cannon.
