A native of Louisville, Kentucky, I've lived since 1998 in the Historic Licking Riverside District of Covington, directly across the Ohio River from Cincinnati. I spent much of my first two years on Find A Grave concentrating on the Grabinschriften of the German immigrants who settled in such large numbers throughout the Ohio River Valley. My favorite German connection is through my 9th-great-grandmother Marthe, Madame de Rocoulle (1655-1741), who was a Hofdame at the Berlin court of Friedrich Wilhelm von Preußen (1688-1740) and Sophia Dorothea von Hannover (1687-1757) and was the governess of their son Friedrich der Große (1712-1786), König von Preußen.|
At present my primary research interest is in the gentry families of colonial Maryland and Virginia, their descendants in Kentucky, and their antecedents in the British Isles. I'm currently focused on the ancestry of my 4th-great-grandmother Sarah Ann Timberlake Woodfin (1809-1855), who died during a yellow fever epidemic in Norfolk, Virginia, especially her 5th-great-grandparents Thomas Symes (c.1621-1670) and Amy Bridges Symes (c.1624-1662), who were buried in the chancel of St Michael's Church at Winterbourne in Gloucestershire. Henry Timberlake (d. 1625), the first with that surname to reside in Virginia, was buried in Henry Wriothesley's vault in the chancel of St Peter's Church at Titchfield in Hampshire.
NOTE. If requesting the change of a year for a pre-1752 date please take note that the legal year in England and its dependents began on Lady Day [March 25th] and not on January 1st. For clarity and consistency I attempt to always use the modern interpretation of which year to use.

My Zilar tree stops at Jacob and Esther Zilar. I wondered if you were able to take Jacob back further, or had any leads where I could look next. Kathy (firstname.lastname@example.org)

Hi Todd....I am interested in the Reats as I am researching the genealogy of a friend of mine. Do you know if this man is the same James Reat who was the silversmith in Richmond? I see that you also have him marrying Catherine P Strobia....My friend's 2x great grandfather was John Strobia Reat...which is what led me to this James. I was hoping there would be more REATs in this churchyard. Any assistance you could give me would be wonderful. If you would prefer, you can email me back at email@example.com. Thank you.....

Thanks for the reply. I live near Ash and have visited the church and memorials to the Hodsolls.
My link is through Agnes Hodsoll who married James Fremlyn circa 1530. As of yet I haven't had any luck with naming her parents. I know she had brothers called William and Thomas but no more than that.

Do you have a connection to the Hodsolls you have listed at Ash?
