I have been working on genealogy for many years and have been a member of Find-a-Grave for the last few years. It is certainly my intent to be accurate with my entries, so please notify me through the edit button if mistakes are found. Also, if I've added one of your relatives and you want management of their memorial, please send me a request through the edit button and I will consider the request. |
Most of my family migrated to Shelby Co, Illinois so that is my main research area.

Hey Thanks a bunch. I read you Bio said most of your research was in Shelby county Illinois. What were you doing in Morrow county?!? LOL. Its funny sounds like we are looking for the same people maybe. My gr gr grandparents from Cowden Illinois. Then other gr gr grandparents from Cardington Ohio! Did you see any other Whites by chance? Any info would be awesome. Thanks again!

Thanks for the information on Mary McFadden Duncan. I think she may be buried back in Ohio because I believe I saw somewhere where James Duncan married Mary McKeever in Ohio after the first Mary died. He liked those Irish Marys....
Jill is not going to believe that I'm talking with you--what a small world. I told Jill that she should have talked to her grandmother more about her family but June was always very tight-lipped about her father. He owned a tavern somewhere in Shelby Co and I think he liked to drink some of the profits and she didn't have fond memories of her childhood. Maybe she told you all about her childhood....
I would be happy to maintain James' memorial. I'll send you a formal request through the edit feature with my number in it.

|SLH||RE: James Duncan|
Thanks for the date change.
Yes, June Frede was my wife's grandmother. As a matter of fact, we were just in Shelbyville last weekend on our way to pick up our daughter from college and we stopped at Glenwood Cemetery and did a cemetery tour--we saw the Fredes, the Jacksons, the Reeds, the Quiggs. It was very interesting. James Duncan is my wife's 4th great grandfather on her mom's side of the family (Quiggle-Huffer-Leathers-Duncan).
Do you live in Shelby County? We're up in Chicago.
