I am hopeing this will help to immortalize some of these old stones, as so many are gone already.
Please just ask before using the photographs I have uploaded to this site

Hello! I am doing research on my RAY family line, and one of your memorials, #71206015 for John RAY, I believe is a greatx6 grand nephew of my ancestor Daniel RAY. I would love a transfer so that I can add his family and all of his information!
Also, I could not help but notice the names EDDY, KING, and WILCOX in your family. I also have signs which point to those families in my research in Vermont. I will let you know if I find any new information! My ancestor William RAY (brother of Daniel RAY) knew General Gilbert EDDY of Pittstown, NY.
|Greg Snyder||Sarah Bloss in Day Center Cemetery|
Hi Dawn - I have been researching this family for a few decades, this Sarah Bloss is my 4th great grandmother. Her son James, husband of Theadate (who is also buried in Day Center) moved to Michigan and is buried in Hillsdale County there. Their son Jonathon Bloss moved to Montcalm County, MI and many of his descendants, including myself, still live there. Anyway, I noticed this memorial has "Barret" as the maiden name of Sarah. I believe that is incorrect. There are many family trees out on Ancestry that name Sarah Barrett as the wife of James Bloss, but they are confusing a Sarah Barrett who married a different James Bloss - not the Sarah who is the grandmother and great-grandmother of the folks buried in the Day Center Cemetery. I believe THIS Sarah is Sarah Smith, born 1750, who married James Bloss Nov 21, 1771 in Killingly, CT. Her husband died in 1790 and Sarah moved with her son James (the one buried in MI) to VT before moving to Day. Are you a descendant of the Blosses of Day Center? Perhaps we are cousins.

Thank You so much,

Thanks a lot Dawn, I hadn't realized I hadn't added Nelson after his death. It wasn't a good time for me. I was in the hospital the day of Nelson's funeral recovering from Heart Failure. I wasn't feeling good when Nelson died and I am glad I didn't try to go to Florida or it would have happened there.
I do know who you are, you are in my Family Tree on Ancestry.com. Nice meeting you and again Thanks.

Hi Dawn, I am Nelson's sister Eleanor, would you consider transferring Nelson to me to add to the rest of our family on Find A Grave?

|Robert M Files Sr.||George Files picture|
Good morning Dawin Whitesel,
I was just looking at the picture of George Files. And was wondering if he was any relation to Silas Files from Watertown, Jefferson,New York.
Silas Files is my great great grandfather. I have no info on his parents. Only know that his father was George Files of Canada. My grandfather's name was Charles Files a son to Silas Files. My father's name was Dell Edmond Files & mother's name was Margaret Catherine Bruin. Both are deceased. I am trying to fill in the missing pieces. He could be related. As most of the Files family did come from Canada. Any info you may have on this Files name will be of help.
And I couldn't agree more with you on Cemeteries. They are very peace full and you can learn a lot from them. I have been doing Family History work for 40yrs & you always find something new. If you wish you can e mail at firstname.lastname@example.org & I will receive the message ok.
Robert Files Sr.
