Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in Meadville, PA and graduated from Meadville High in the class of 1948. In my single days I was a bookkeeper. Married in 1956 to Michael J. Mogush and we raised three children. My interest in genealogy began in 1971 when I found a Weaver cousin of my mother's. They did not know that either one existed. Elizabeth Weaver King had a copy of a Weaver History which contained very little information on the Cypherts. I began writing to all my cousins to gather their family information. From there, the information grew and grew until, today, my data base contains over 17,000 names! My main surnames are Aaron, Badger, Crate, Cyphert, Greenawalt, Grett, Kerr, Reinsel and Weaver.

Rensel and Weaver
Just one quick note, Guy Rensel and Mary Jane Agnes Weaver, parents of Stella Rensel, raised Frank Hassan. His brother William Hassan married Stella Rensel. Sounds like we may be more related than I thought.

Smiths, Meinweiser and Hassan
Hi Barbara,

My name is is Heather Bowers and I have been doing research for many years like yourself. I live in Ohio and it looks like we may be distant cousins, and I would love to talk to you. I know the Meinweiser's are buried in Brookville and also Frank and Anna Meinweiser Hassan, for I have visited their graves. Frank is a brother to my grandfather Joseph Edward Bowers, AKA, Charels Augustine Hassan. There were a total of 5 Hassan boys. Would love to hear from you, and I am interested in managing Frank's grave.

The Cyphers

My ggg grandfather, Mathias Cypher who married Elizabeth Little was born in Germany around 1754- 1760 and died in Butler County, PA in 1831. I think Philip Seifert, Jr. could be one of his brothers. I hope to hear from you soon. Good day.

RE: Joseph Zanger Memorial
Thanks so much for your quick reply. His will requests that he be buried "in the burying ground of the Catholic Church in Limestone Township, known as Aarons" Found this in the church history: "In 1835, by united efforts this minature [sic] congregation selected a site on the hill near the center of what is now the cemetery and deeded for that purpose by Joseph Aaron." Joseph made his will 22 Dec 1859, and in a note added on 7 Jun 1861 he is referred to as "the deceased". (His marker says Jan 7, but I wonder if that is a misreading of Jun 7.) He is on the 1860 census (his wife is not.) Her marker says she died in Sep 1860, but he does not mention her at all in his will of 1859, so I think she had probably died prior to Dec 1859.

I'm finding the 1854 date all over the Internet - folks copying it from the gravestone, I'm sure. I wonder if you could add a note that the death date is in error? Thanks!

RE: Mary Magdalene Cyphert Aaron
You are welcome!

Do you know anything about an Edward Cyphert whose parents were Heath and Carrie?

Someone asked me and I can't find it on a quick search. Don't put any time into it. I thought maybe you'd know. Edward was born in Crates, I guess.

Thank you!

Fr. Kotyuk photo
Thank you so much for the wonderful, smiling photo of Fr. Stephen Kotyuk added to his memorial. I had been after his nephew to upload one for quite some time. :-)

RE: Quays
Happy to oblige Barbara. I think it is great that someone steps forward and wants to care for the people they know, related or not. I'm sure they would appreciate knowing how much you still care for them.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I will be happy to transfer the Cathermans to you. Please give me a week. I am on vacation and have limited internet access. If I haven't done so by Thanksgiving, please send me a reminder.
