My name is Linda Sue Matherly Dick. I am from Shady Springs, WV but now live in Princeton, WV. I enjoy working on genealogy for my family (Matherly/Slaughter/Meadows/Phillips) and for my husbands family (Dick/Cales/Brown/Hatcher). I enjoy this site and trying to make helpful additions for others.|

I want to thank you for adding pictures of the grave markers of my maternal grandparents, aunt and uncle. The aunt, Cathrene Lucille, lived only a few months but was my mother's eldest sister. My grandfather, C.H. Jones, died a few months before I was born, but I have warm memories of my dear grandmother, Mabel Alice Pugh Jones. They lived in Newport News, VA in later years but were native West Virginians. My Uncle Charles I barely remember seeing. I graduated from Bluefield College in 1988 and have not been to the cemetery in a number of years but visited several times when I was a little younger.
|Mr. J. G. Dickens||Transfer Request|
Would you please transfer the Halsteads' to me; Geo. B. Halstead was an episcopal minister (the first minister of St. Andrew's in Mullens, WV -- were I'm from) and I have many files/information to add on him in the near future. Their numbers are below;
Kindly, J. Dickens
Thank you so much for the transfer of her memorial. I truly appreciate it!

Thanks for the picture. It's a little hard to read, is the stone already worn that much or was the sun on it? Not to be critical but I find the pictures are better if the stones are cleared of dead grass, weeds, etc. Just a suggestion, I always keep a little broom and water in my car to clean stones, especially the flat ones even with the ground they get pretty buried sometimes.
