Bio and Links
I am a lifelong resident of Conshohocken, Pa. I am an avid student of history most noteably the United States Civil War. I graduated in 1969 from the former Archbishop Kennedy High School in Conshohocken, where my interest in history was cultivated by Sr. Maria Davidica IHM in my junior year. In the past I have served as President of the Conshohocken Fire Co. No 2 and as Fire Marshal for the Borough of Conshohocken. I am the founder of the Civil War Roundtable of Montgomery County, Pa (www.cwrtmontcopa.org) and Vice-President of the Historical Society of Montgomery County. I volunteer my time at Montgomery Cemetery in West Norriton Township. I like to make known the life stories of the everyday men and women of my hometown and the surrounding area, especially those who served in the Civil War.

Roberts Cemetery/Red Hill
You know way more than I do about this.
I questioned whether the cemetery should be named Roberts Cemetery, as it now is on Find A Grave, or Jonathan Roberts Burial Grounds, which is what the stone sign says. Someone other than me created the cemetery so that they could create the memorial to Jonathan Roberts, and I believe they are the ones who named it Roberts Cemetery.

Would you like to do the honors and seek the AKA designation, and decide whether to ask that the name be changed? I think the background on the fact that it was not only a family burial ground but also had the other purpose would be good info for the main page, and you could word it more accurately.

Let me know.

RE: James America
Hi, Thanks for that info. Is it all one cemetery or two different ones? All I saw when I was there was the Roberts family. This explains why other memorials are showing up. If the names are considered to be interchangeable we ought to seek an "also known as" designation.

No, I am in Clark County, Ohio. Just a little bit away from your location. Alternate spellings-Endsley, Ansley. William C. Ensley, and Julia ???.
William C. Ensley and Sarah Elizabeth Gordon are the ancestors I am looking for. She married an Anderson after Ensley. Thank you.

Pvt. Samuel Kay
I am the great, great granddaughter of Pvt Kay. I have found no evidence in my genealogical research to indicate a relationship with any of the people listed on the photo of the memorial. Samuel became a citizen in 1858 and married Mary Ogden in Conshohoekone,PA on July 12, 1859. According to the "History of the 51st Regiment" Samuel Kay was the only one in his company killed at South Mountain. Bodies from the battle of South Mountain were relocated to Antietam National Cemetery. I found no listing there for Samuel Kay although there are several unknown graves from the 51st Regiment. I can upload a photo of Samuel onto the memorial site but am unsure if this is appropriate.

Please send your suggestions via the edit/suggestion tab of the memorial in question. It save me from having to look it up.
Thank you
