I like cemeteries because they are like outdoor museums whether for my own family history or a community's history. The grave-markers are sometimes the only image one has of an ancestor. Truly, the only way to 'preserve' a cemetery is to list the inscriptions (aka 'read a cemetery')and take photos of the grave markers. |
NOTICE TO THOSE LEAVING MESSAGES: Please do not send or leave me a message if I can't do the same with you.
NOTE to photographers: Please don't add photos [of grave markers] to memorials that already have photos unless yours is outstanding - seriously - there is no need to have multiple photos if the ones already on the memorial are done well. There are so many memorials that do need photos -- try to find those and contribute in that way - it will be appreciated so much more by all. Also, keep those other spaces open for family members to hopefully add photos of the deceased.
MESSAGES: I discard messages periodically.

My husband is descended from the Jerome family as well. We have been to the Richardson Creek cemetery and Mint Hill to photograph graves. I am enjoying your contributions to the Jerome Family Tree and Find A Grave for the Jerome family of the Monroe area, Union Co. ,NC.

Thanks as always! I did not know about the edits. By the way, Paul Clyburn's first wife was Annie Caroline Blakeney, sometimes referred to as "Annie" or "Caroline". Found this on Ancestry.com as well as from one of his son's wife who still lives in Wingate,NC.

Thank you for letting me know. I have had a lot of contact lately about this little cemetery. How generous of Mr. Barbee to place a stone in her memory. I wish more cared about honoring those who have gone on before us.
