Hi my name is Judy (Cook) Penley. I live in the beautiful state of Missouri. I am the mother of four grown children & the Maw-Maw of nine (almost 10, come Feb 2015) grandchildren, ranging in age from 16 yrs old down to 1 yr old. Boy, am I ever a pushover when it comes to those grandbabies! I am the wife to the love of my life, my husband Ric, we've been together 26 years & 23 of those years married.|
I'm a genealogy nut, I caught the bug about 13 years back and I'm hooked. What I thought would be a part time interest has grown into a full time love. Through my genealogy research, I've reconnected with family & connected with distant family I never knew I had. My one hope is that my children, their children & so on, will maintain & continue to document family as they come & go.
Now, down to business...
If you want to have a memorial transferred, I generally do not do so, but I will be happy to add additional information, do corrections, or add links, just send me the information thru Find A Grave suggestions or corrections & I will be happy to add it to the memorial crediting you as the informant. Make sure to send all the pertinent information (ie: Deceased full name, cemetery name & memorial number for that person & whatever else you might think helpful to me).
I am also currently trying to load all my pics of the graves I have been able to visit. As you will see, when I first started I only took close-up pictures of the headstones, however, I later began taking full pictures of the headstones as well as close-ups, sorry for the error in judgement.
p.s. I am sorry to say I am no longer able to get out & take photos of the cemeteries.

I'm doing some family tree research and I've come across a James H cook in my family.according to a few pages you manage, you are related to him as well and have info on his family.
I'd love to get to talk to you and maybe request some records please. I'd be more than happy to return the favor. I've sent you an email but I am unsure if you still use the account.
Please get back to me if you can, James has been a major roadblock for about 30 years on our family's research.
All I have is listed in my tree on ancestry.com.
Wanda or Wanda1. I updated, they may not have complete online yet.
Hello, I am a Moreau decendant thru Mary Ellen Moreau sister to your William Alexander.

Thank you Judy, hey my profile picture is a photo of Valley Springs school @ 1894 my grandfather Ira T. Cook is about 12 in this photo(back row 2nd from left) and his sister Eugenia Cook Jacobs is 5 or 6 (arms crossed on left end front ). Another sister Nina Gertrude Cook passed away in 1894 and I am not sure if this photo was taken before or after her death. My uncle Carl Cook was not sure either. Maybe some of your line is in it also ? I assume most are Cook, Daly,Wood ,Boldin/Baldwin, Boggs families. Would love to be able to I D some others in the photo , any help appreciated. On a second note there are 2 gentlemen listed as buried at Valley on Find A Grave, private A Foster and private R E James , they are not there, i have emailed their creator a mister Rickards, a couple times and no reply. Any idea to get this corrected? Thanks again. Duke Hadusek

I know that some family tree listers list Laban's wife as Lucy, but they offer no documentation. So that must have been somebody's guess that got picked up by others? Actually the record reveals that Laban's wife was Easther.
Before Laban Stafford moved to North Carolina, he was living about 40 miles North of the NC county line in Virginia.
Lunenburg Co., VA Deed Book 8, p. 187-188
12 July 1764 Laban Stafford purchased land from John Ezell. That part of Lunenburg Co. became Mecklenburg Co.
Laban Stafford's name appears in the land records of Mecklenburg Co., VA 1770 - 1772.
11 & 13 April 1772 Mecklenburg Co., VA land transactions record Laban Stafford's sale of land there. His wife is named as Easther in these 2 records.
Then in North Carolina
20 April 1772 Orange Co., NC Deed Book 4, p. 423
Laban Stafford purchases land on both sides of Cobb Creek.
(Part of Orange Co., NC became Caswell Co., NC in 1777)
1777 Laban Stafford appears on the Caswell Co. tax rolls.
I'm glad fellow descendants are interested in the family tree.
