I started at a young age with the interest for the dead. This photo was taken in about 1957 at the Aztec Ruins in New Mexico. I am on the left and my cousin Diane Quinn on the right.|
Researching my family history is one of the most important goals in my life. I feel we should all know as much about our ancestors as possible. Through my research I have been able to spend quality time with my sister, Sandra Bertram MEIER. Researching has brought lots of people into my life I would never have met otherwise. Let's all keep up the good work.
I have just come across my pictures on Ancestry.com that someone has used as their own. There is no mention of where the picture came from. This is ashame. For all of you that tramp through knee high grass, work in the hot Texas sun, and in the cold north wind, use your own gas and then try to find a tree big enough when nature calls, you know what I am talking about. Please if you want to use my pictures or anyone elses please have the decency to ask before posting and give credit where credit is due.
PLEASE NOTE - VERY IMPORTANT:

Since I am getting so many requests for transfers I have started using the findagrave guidelines for transfer. You do not need to own an ancestors memorial page to have a great memorial. I update them each day and will add to a memorial. Just use the edit button on the top right hand of the memorial to be edited.
New Editing Function
"FindaGrave has added a new editing function to all members. Check the 'Edit' tab on your profile page for pending edit requests for your memorials."
You currently have one or more such edit requests on your profile page. Most edit requests are no longer sent from FindaGrave with an email notice to the memorial creator/current manager. You have to go to your profile page and check the Edit tab to see the requests for additions or changes to your memorials.
Please check your profile page so that the requested edits can be processed. FindaGrave has made this change to facilitate rapid handling of multiple edit requests.

I did. I personally believe your memorial to be the correct one with regard to burial place. However, just wanted you to be aware of the duplication as the other memorial was created first and that person may try and contact you.
Best regards - David

OOPS! I was surprised to see Yarboro photographed at 92% and discovered that all those death certificates are loaded in as grave photos!
Would you please put reloading these on your to-do list? I hope to go out there his afternoon and maybe will have some of real graves soon. Thanks, -Rebecca
|Luayne Pierce||Martha Jane Shannon Gentry|
I am working with a lady on her application for DAR, and she is going in on the Gentry line.
When checking her genealogy on Ancestry.com, I found that she was MRS Martha J Shannon on the marriage certificate with Thomas N Gentry as her husband in Washington Co, TX.
Since it states she is a Mrs at time of marriage I am wondering if she was married prior to marriage to Thomas N Gentry. I saw that you are showing her maiden name as Shannon on findagrave mem. #99698493. I saw from the photos of tombstones that she was M J Gentry on tombstone.
Do you have any info on what her maiden name might be if not Shannon. In order for my lady to go into NSDAR, she has to prove each generation and without the maiden name, we have to do more research. If you have any info, I would love to add it to my research records to prove the correct maiden name and her parents.
my contact address on e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for any help you can furnish.

I am writing to tell you how much I appreciate the work you do and the photos you add.
I was really happy to find a photo of my Great Grand Uncle's headstone - Ralph W(ilder) Baker Memorial# 116456950 - It is always so helpful to be able to actually See the headstone and caused a correction for me to his death date. The newspaper article I found had it as Aug 13 and headstone says July 13. I would appreciate having permission to add your photos to my tree on Ancestry.
I always ask first and include information for who’s photo it is.
Thanks again for all your work.

Thank you for the information on the baby boy Allen. My memorial links him to the correct parents. I prefer not to add death certificates to my memorials. Thanks again, Connie

I can't find the photo you mentioned.
Please go to the upper righthand corner of the memorial in question and click on Edit. A menu will appear. Pick the right one and then email it to me and I can then see the memorial.
