Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm an Academic Instructor and Librarian with a MLIS, working on a Doctorate in Education. For the past 13+ years as a on again-off again hobby, I have been working on family genealogy that was started by my mother in the 1970's. Working through old documents and well preserved photos that other family members would have thrown. I was lucky that my mom was an archivist. I have digitally scanned a lot of old photos.

The Macomber family is an old name that starts with two brothers William & John that came to Plymouth in 1628. I have traced my Macomber side of the family back to William Macomber Jr (1645-1711). To access this information I still link everything to my 4G Grandfather Joseph Macomber. The only great grandfather with a stone going back that far, being that all grandparents past Joseph were buried on their respective family farms :( Many Macomber descendants have had no luck in locating these stones, or the family farms.

Yet I still created a memorial for Joseph's father, John Macomber (1734-1802) - buried at his family farm in Dutchesss County, NY

Johns father - William Macomber 1702-1800 Dartmouth, Bristol, Massachusetts, USA.

Wiliam's Father - William Macomber 1674-1767 Dartmouth, Bristol, Massachusetts, USA.

I have traced my family names back to their places of origin:
Scottish (Lowe), Irish (Marr), English (Macomber), German (Leist & Laun) & French Canadian (Belanger).

MANY of my interments are relatives of mine - please contact me if you see a familiar name - we just may be able to make a connection!

Other Family names:
Bell, Coleman, Easterly, Fitz-Randolph, Furbeck, Ogden.

In 2009 I was working on a project for Redlands Historical Society. That volunteer work can be seen through this virtual cemetery listing. Since that time the volunteers at Hillside Cemetery in Redlands, CA have finished % of the cemetery  Hillside cemetery Redlands, CA. Volunteer for Redlands Historical Society. Project started 1/12/09.

250 posted. 140+ to add. 4/4/2010
:( That computer died but I think the good volunteers at hillside have completed my section, block 5 for me. 7/25/2013

All memorials I have other than those listed in the project for Hillside or Perris Valley are family members either distant or closely related.

RE: Thank you ;) Charles & Clara Marr
I checked with the cemetery office and they did not have any information about Clara Marr. There is not another Marr buried next to Charles. He is surrounded by strangers.

Mary B. (Coleman) Kast / Guist
I see you originally created the page for my GGGrandmother, Mary B. (Coleman) Kast / Guist. I'm hoping to verify the information you provided. I cannot find a stone for her in the Readstown Cemetery, and they cannot find her on any of their records. (Although they did say some records were lost in a fire). Was she really buried under the Kast last name? I cannot find a death record for her either. I see you have her as having died in Gays Mills. Did she live with one of her children? I ran across a photo in one of my Bell Aunt's collections that has "Grandmother Guist with son Lynn" written on the back. I have not found that she had a son named Lynn, but maybe one of her son's went by his middle name. It also leads me to believe she was using the Guist last name. I would be related to her through her daughter Martha Jeanette Kast, who had a daughter Mae Belle Coleman (later unofficially adopted by Issac Whiteaker). Mae married Lynn Bell, and they went on to have 13 children, #12 is my father Gary. I recently carried Mary's locket that was given to her by her first husband James Kast before he left for the Civil War (from which he never returned). I would really like to know where Mary is buried, and the rest of her story. Any information you have would be appreciated.

RE: Charles Henry Marr
His grave is alone in a sea of other seemingly unrelated graves - it's very odd - in between a monument for "Johnson" and one for "Kunze". Are either of those names familiar to you? I'll check in the cemetery office the next time we are there for Clara - perhaps next week. We are also still looking for Margaret Marr. There is supposed to be one in Fairview who was 11 days old died 6-18-1907 also in section 19. There is no grave marker with that name near Charles. It's also on our list of questions for the office.

Would you transfer him to me? He was my 2x great-grandfather #29842460. Also, would you include his wife my 2x great-grandmother Elizabeth Overly #29842506. Thank you so much.

Hey: MAComber

Guess what? I'm also MAComer.
I live in Oceanside and I just claimed a request at the Mission.

When you've been researching your Comber name, I suspect you find Comer, as well as I've found Comber. We go back to Robert Comer and Rebecca or Rebeka Houghton, in this country.

RE: Is it Kathryn
Ah. That makes sense to me. Yes the photos I have are labeled. I got them from a cousin of mine who stayed in contact with Ed & Kathryn's daughter, Joann, although it was infrequent. I have an article from a newspaper telling of Eds death in a farming accident and it listed Kathryn's address as well.

RE: Orlando Furbeck and Olivia Mae Dales
I'm sorry. I'm not making the connection to "kittie". As far as I know, none of the research or artifacts I've come across refers to Ed Leibys wife, Katherine, as Kittie, so I'm not sure what you're referring to. Can you point me to the artifact or record where I've labelled Katherine as Kittie? I suppose it's possible over the 25 years I've been digging but to my knowledge she's always been in obits and articles as Katherine. Thanks for the note. Always great to connect to other folks to help clear up and learn things. Let me know.

RE: Charles Miller Macomber
Unfortunately FindaGrave puts responses out in public, and I'd rather take it to private email. Look for my contact info on this page of my genealogy website:
