Currently I am working in the Mt. View Cemetery (Oregon City) in the County Park #1 section (paupers). It has been neglected for many many years. I have unearthed and photographed some 62 headstones and marked their rows. These folks deserve to have their graves maintained as much as anyone else in the cemetery.|
I am a 6 generation Oregonian and have been doing my family genealogy since the early 70's. Back then it took months to find out one fact, today with the computer that information can be found in the blink of an eye.
Only now it seems more confusing the first thing I learned back then was to document all my information and make sure the facts were correct. Now a day's people just put anything on the internet only guessing or by family stories, making things more confusing. I am now trying to set apart family fact from fiction to keep the information correct for future generations to come.
I love doing genealogy it's a real life story..like a good book you can't put down the only thing is I will probably never know the ending or the beginning.
My memorials are family and a work in progress, adding to each one as I find family material and photos. I have traveled to Washington, California, Ohio and Pennsylvania doing my family research in cemeteries and historical societies. If you are family I would love to hear from you.
There is nothing worse than someone stealing someone's work, not giving credit to the original poster then pretending it is their work. Please don't be one of those people, and please don't use my photos or documents without asking first.
I do photo requests and take photos while I am in the cemetery. I like to take more than one photo of the headstone, to give you the feeling of being there and seeing the surrounding area. If you would like me to remove any of my photos just ask.

Thanks so much for all your hard work. There no way possible that I could have done that amount of research and photo hunting without a long plane ride and a bunch of motel cost. we all appreciate the work you guys turn in it is so important. Thanks Again Christian Schnider

Penny, you're so kind. I'd love some more pictures when ever it is convenient for you. May I add your pictures to my Mosher family history and share them with my family? I will thankfully give you the credit. Also, I'd like to purchase a marker for Mary Shobe. Can you suggest a reliable company?
Once again, thanks so much.
Thank you so much for the picture of Henry Mosher's grave. Find a grave has his name spelled incorrectly as Mosier which I have found to be a common problem in Census'and other public records. He was my great grandfather. Also, thank you for looking for Mary Shobe's grave. She was Henry and Bridget's daughter - my great aunt. It's sad to think that she made sure her parents had headstones but doesn't have one herself.
Thanks again. You have a real ministry - connecting people with their family history.

Thank you for the photos.

Penny, first I will not be back to photograph in that cemetery until May. Second, both memorials are flat on the ground. The photos you requested will not be very good, probably barely legible because of the size. I will try to remember to do this when I get back there, but don't expect great things. I take the photos as they are most legible and usable.

Thank you so much for taking a photo of David McDougall's headstone. I never knew he was a Reverend, so the photo was very helpful. Thanks for taking the time to do that!

Thank you, I appreciate your time.

Thank you for the very nice photo of Eugene's memorial.
Do you know if his wife Edith Jeanette Fast Wymore (1922 - 2011) is also entombed there?
