I am a direct descendant of the Copp, Brown, Peck, Ward, McIntyre, and Shaw families on my father's side. Roloff, Crescelius, Garbrecht, Pfersich, Zastrow, and Ziemer families from Prussia on my mother's side. I am making a special effort to photograph stones at Terre Haute Cemetery in Henderson County, IL. Many of the stones are faded and breaking off. I want to preserve them digitally before it's too late. My Peck & Shaw ancestors rest at this cemetery, so it is very important to me.|
As with everyone else, if you find a relative's memorial that I have created, you can have it to manage. Just drop me a note via Find-a-Grave. I am creating memorials because I can get to these cemeteries to take the pictures. I appreciate the memorials people have made for my family members who are buried far away. Thank you, all!

I was like that, too, with cems in Topeka KS. Could never run out of photo opps...OR...genie blog fodder, because the earliest graves went back as far as when KS became a state (1861) or shortly before.

|Joanna||RE: Marcia Jean JULIA?|
Marcia's record at Ancestry also has her parents as being born in Sweden and her mother's "primary" first name as "Julia". Some of my own Swedish ancestresses had several first and middle names, so in that respect it's **possible** Julia was Marcia's second middle name, but I'd want to see a baptismal/christening record for verification. until then, I'm leaving it at "Marcia Jean".
As for those lengthy charts from others, I never add them "en masse", but compare each and every name and date to what I already have from me own research, or can check against other sources. A distant cousin is bad about adding anything that comes her way as "factual", but fortunately her sister isn't so gullible and lives by "Verify, verify, verify". She's caught a couple of inaccuracies in my own research, and I was glad she did!

Re the additional name "Julia" for Marcia at Ancestry: I'd certainly question that! I treat info in Family Trees at Ancestry the same as "User Submitted" info on FamilySearch dot org - with a grain of salt! Ancestry family trees created by members are mostly undocumented, plus Ancestry also combs its databases and combines data for people with "similar" names into "trees", whether the people are related or not. Either version is virtually impossible to get corrected or deleted. I've spent many hours adding corrections in the Comments section on trees about my own ancestors or the ancestors of friends I've diligently researched. Pretty much a waste of time but I do it anyway.
Have a great day!

Got it! Thank you! I was able to open it just fine in GoogleDocs, then copy/paste it into a document program on my hard drive. You have some details I don't, and vice versa. If you're at all interested in what I have that you don't, let me know and I'll send it to you.
