Henry Sherman Burial
Is Henry Sherman who is buried in North Side Cemetery a Confederate casualty who died in 1864 in Griswoldville, Ga.? Henry Thomas Sherman, first husband of Susan Emily Potter, was born Dec. 18, 1828, in Georgia, son of Martha Lancaster and Robert Sherman. NARA Compiled Military Service Records indicate Henry
enlisted as a private in Capt. George Y. Banks’ (Company D), Maj. T. R. Stewart’s Twelfth Battalion, Georgia Cavalry, State Guards. He joined for duty and enrolled Aug. 4, 1863, at Stewart Co., Ga. for six months of duty for local defence (Film M266 Roll 52). His widow, Susan, later in 1870 second married Rev. David Reid McWilliams in Stewart Co., Ga.

Frances Edna Stanford Simpson's Brother
Thanks so much for posting this gravesite and Reminiscences of Fannie. She had on brother, Edgar that stayed with his mother and step dad and
moved to Texas. According to the Stanford Family Bible Records, he died on Jan 6, 1896. Do you have any other information on Edgar (my wife's great-grandfather). Thanks Wolfman.

RE: Eli Stroud Cemetery ???
My brother-in-law is a Driskell. However, the Driskill spelling here is probably wrong on the gravestones. Russell County records indicate the spelling of Driskell. If you see anyone working there, see if they will contact me. At the time, this cemetery was started, it was in Russell County. I became Lee County in 1866. I live nearby in Bleecker. CBD
