Archaeologist who loves cemeteries. My ancestors are mostly in Virginia & Massachusetts, but I'm glad to help with grave photos for those in Arizona---wanna swap? And PLEASE let me know if I need to make corrections. Thanks.|

Mary Paul's first husband was Samuel Clap # 20754820. Their daughter Mary Clap #64764732 married Lieut. Thomas Bird #40684121. After Samuel Clap died, Mary Paul Clap married Abiel Bird (1673-1757), so she is buried under the name Mary Bird.

They are there in Blk 7, sec D, gr 165 2 A and 2 B. Different spelling from Esther in the directory if you were looking at it. That's one of the difficulties in finding people there, lol. The cemetery is huge so when I go there I try to do as many in the same block as I can instead of skipping around. The snow is finally melting and I have started back to finding the requests again. There was about 8" of snow there and you couldn't read the names on some of the stones with the snow drifts against them or even walk to the different rows ( listed as tr or tiers). I will put them and their block on my 'priority' list for you. I've been going thru withdrawal these last months, lol. Will let you know soon. Martha

I forgot to mention, I misplaced your email address so I sent Public message. Got new computer and lost my email contacts.
|SWVA Genealogy Searcher||Hello|
Hope you had a super Christmas. Been away from Find A Grave for a while. Lost 4 family members in 8 weeks and 6 total in 4 months. Was depressing working on cemeteries. We are all fine.
I have worked Southside for years. My entire side of my family is from Brunswick Co, Mecklenburg Co, Lunenburg Co, and Halifax, on top of a few from the other counties. My dad's immediate family is from South Hill and Chase City, Va.
My husband's family is from Southwest Virginia so I work on this area but always work the other if something comes up.
Thanks Trink, have you been on WikiTree? It is a collaboration to have DOCUMENTED family trees and to connect the world. I love it and still posting my family, check it out!

John Isham Pearcy or Isham Pearcy is my 1st cousin 5x removed. Isham's father Nicholas Pearcy is my 4th great uncle. His brother, Isham Pearcy, is my 4th Great Grandfather. Your Isham was named after my Isham as far as I can tell. I have found it strange that none of the Pearcy sons named one of their sons after themselves. Instead, as far as I've been able to determine their sons where named after their brothers. Someone had your Isham's first name as John on their tree, and I adopted it since Nicholas didn't name any of his sons John and almost all of the cousins named one of their sons John. Plus it was easier to distinguish your Isham from mine.
Though we are distantly related, it is good to meet you cousin! As I have done all of the Pearcy's that I can determine are from John & Anna Margaret Spencer, I would love to include as much of your family as you are willing to share.
My private E-Mail is email@example.com
Hope to hear from you again!
