My name is Darlene Sawyer. My maiden name was Hooker. I grew up in the Bethany Community of Eads, TN, and attended Bethany Christian Church. Although I am still in the same area, in Shelby County, I often drive through the Oakland and Somerville areas of Fayette County, Tennessee. The cemetery transcripts are such a helpful tool in genealogy research that I am delighted to have a hand in helping others find where their family members are buried. In my search, I was always so delighted to find a photo attached to the transcript....especially if the cemetery was far from home. I hope I will be able to help others that are unable to search this area for themselves. | |

 | RE: Holt in Antioch Darlene,
There are six Antioch Baptist cemeterys in Tennessee. Perhaps you could put out a photo request for each cemetery and someone would find their monuments.
You can find the six cemeterys by using the cemetery lookup and put in Antioch Baptist.
Sorry we didn't find their monuments.

 | general thanks which isn't enough, but your work helps others so much, as you know. it's the care you take in making the best photo you can that shows how much it means to you, too. if you ever bump into a record for "G.B." or "Greenberry Hamblet" (or some variant surname spelling) in Fayette CO, he died in 1841; his widow, "Joanna [Elder] Hamblet," was there for the 1850 census, but moved to Woodruff CO AR, where she is buried: 34874042, with her son, John Thomas Hamblet: 34873950. anyhow, you are appreciated! | | | SherryG
 | RE: Earl Ward You are most welcome...if you would like to add the location to his page it is: Section 6B, Block 9, Lot 34, Grave 1. There were no other Ward markers nearby, but it's clear someone who cares comes and tends to and decorates the grave. All the best, SherryAdded by SherryG on Apr 14, 2012 10:48 PM | | | Christa
 | RE: Gideon Cullen Spellings I'm afraid I don't know much about the Spellings from Benton County, although I'm kin to just about 90% of those who still live there. :) Could I help you do a little research for your friend? I'd be happy to.

 | John O. Burnett So excited to find my GG Grandfather's grave- hope to visit someday. Thanks to you! I would love a photo of his grave and marker- is that possible? I looked at all the names but couldn't find my grandmother's grave but family info passed down thru the generations was that she went to GA. after his death, so maybe I will find her there someday. Bless you for all you do to help us find our loved ones.

 | Thank You! Hello Again,
Thank you for providing the very nice markerstone photo for the memorial page of Simon Baird and for your efforts put forth in trying to locate the markerstone of the spouse, Elizabeth Baird, as well. I appreciate the follow up report provided for me, also.Added by Autumn on Jul 30, 2010 8:46 PM | | | | [View all messages...] |
