Your tombstone stands among the rest; Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.

It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.

Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years age
spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.

I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

I found this and fell in love with it but, do not know who wrote it. Hope that you enjoy reading it.

RE: Kaylor's
Thank you. WD Kaylor Sr is my grandfather, and he is still alive and kicking! His 83rd birthday is the 22nd of this month. I'm trying to piece together some family history for him as a birthday present, as well as to fill out the family tree.

Find A Grave Memorial# 78603685 Carmon E "Pete" Kaylor - this is my great aunt. Do you have any family history you could share on the Kaylor family?

I am the granddaughter of Willard Dempsy Kaylor, and an avid genealogist. I would love any information you could share. The Kaylor line is a total brick wall for me.

James N Collinsworth, buried at Bistineau Cemetery
This is my grandfather's younger half-brother. James' parents are David Thomas Collinsworth and Evie Rowell. James has a brother living outside of Ringgold, Henry Collinsworth.

Tornado victims
Hi, thanks for the information and insight...I had never heard of the Minden tornado (I'm from Ouachita Parish, now living in Bossier City) until a few years ago when I wandered onto the "Memories of Minden" website. It would have to be traumatic and impressionable for a five year old, like your sister to witness that. I remember a tornado going through Jackson parish while visiting my grandparents when I was around that age. It's something you don't forget. The one in Minden was so devastating, for the "city" folks and the ones living in rural areas. I can't imagine not only losing one's home, but their loved ones as well. Thanks for the gravestone photos, too!
