Hello. According to your information, Adam Miller or Mueller is a direct ancestor of mine through his daughter Catherine to her son John Baer, to his daughter Anna Baer, and her son George Miller. I am in the process of writing a family history book and was wondering where you found your information about this family?
|Sam Andrusko||Mary Ann Flegel Bare|
She married Elijah Scott in 1922, not 1932. Newspaper photocopy was faded/smudged, so just double checked at FamilySearch.
|Sam Andrusko||Mary Ann Flegel Bare (46677934)|
She was buried in Maple Grove Cem., Ovid MI, so your entry is a duplicate of 100931841. As you have more information than the duplicate entry, perhaps you can ask Glenn Geirland to delete his in favor of yours? I hope so.
Here is her obituary if you would like to add it to her entry. She was adopted by Peter and Mary M. (Cole) Fleagle and raised by them. Their name is spelled Fleagle, not Flegel (although that is one of the variants often found).
The obituary comes from the papers of Richard David Fleagle; no date for the clipping (a photocopy of a newspaper obit). There was an Ovid (MI) Register-Union published at that time, so perhaps it came from that newspaper.
Oh, and per her death certificate, her biological parents were Alexander and Lucy King.
Sam Andrusko (a Fl*g*l family researcher)
Here is a transcription of the obit. Let me know if you'd like a copy of it as an image.
Mrs. E.J. Scott passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lewis Hopkins, Saturday night, after an illness of nearly two years.
On July 12, 1936, she suffered a stroke of apoplexy, which rendered her practically helpless, and since last Thanksgiving had been confined to her bed.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Kelley Funeral Home, Rev. Phillips officiating. Burial was made in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Mary King Fleagle was born in Canada, Dec. 25, 1857, and passed away May 14, 1938 at the age of 80 years, 4 months and 19 days. She came to Clinton county when a small girl, and in 1875 was united in marriage to David Bare, who died Oct. 1, 1917.
Four children were born to this union: Mrs. Gertie Hopkins of Ovid, Bert Bare of Detroit, Walter Bare of Petoskey, and Mrs. Nellie More, deceased.
On Dec. 16, 1932, she was married to Elijah J. Scott, Clyde, Ohio, who died May 22, 1932. Since that time she made her home in Ovid with Mr. and Mrs. Hopkins.
She was a kind and loving mother and friend, and besides her children is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Eugene Jolly [sic] of Greenbush and Mrs. Nellie Marshall of St. Johns, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
|Teresa Stoner||George Eitman|
I was wondering if you could share where you got the information that George Eitman was orphaned at age 3 by Andrew Eitman (Aitman) and Nancy Gingerich (Gingery/Gingrich) and thus raised by his uncle Daniel Gingery. Daniel is my great...great....great....and so on grandfather?

I took a photo of Dr. Bare's grave site. There is no headstone/marker. I learned in the process that he was born in 1850 in Indiana, and died in Saginaw, MI. I sent edits to the creator of the memorial, but it may take some time for them to accept the edits. I also added some new photos to his daughter Imah's memorial. Just wanted to let you know..

I'm requesting a transfer of Effie Fatouch, Memorial# 31299661. She is my great aunt on my mothers maternal (Fatuch) line. Thank you so much for adding her! We did not know where she had gone because at that time many in the family had passed away in different areas of MA, RI, NY. Thank you. Sincerely, Mary A Briggs
