BIG NOTE: I am no longer in a position to "manage" any non-relatives. For any changes submitted, except for minor error correction, I will Transfer Management. Most of my postings are from gravestone photos, many taken more than several years ago. For the most part, I am caught up with my backlog. If you have submitted change requests in the past and do not see a change made now, please submit again as a transfer request. If you do not want ownership of an entry, do not submit update information (except for minor error correction such as typo errors or date errors transposing from photos).
Picture is of my late Mother, Helen Klauk, and late Aunt (her sister), Laura Price, when they were young. I became interested in genealogy and family history when I discovered that my grandfather was the 1910 version of an illegal alien and a deserter from the German Navy. In March 2000, I was corporate downsized from a NY City job of 22 years and took early retirement, moving back to the area I grew up and where I had purchased a home in 1988. Since that event, much of my time has been spent as volunteer coordinator for the USGenWeb site for Erie County, PA at http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~paerie where I have been attempting to promote an interlinking of past formal cemetery readings with informal readings and other records used to post to Find-A-Grave. | |

 | Thomas D. Johns Umm, I don't want to appropriate your Find-a‑grave page, but brought you information, which I'll repeat since you have just "GAR flagholder - Civil War service?"
Thomas D. Johns was a graduate of the U. S. Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1848. A summary career biography of him is given in entry #1400 in Cullum's Biographical Register of the Graduates of the Military Academy; it is online, at http://bit.ly/Cullum1400
