Important! If anyone has tried to send me SACs or EDITs but has had them returned, please resend. Sorry for the trouble :(
Note for Mount Vernon Cemetery, Atchison, KS:
I have started adding Plot locations to those memorials that my books list.
If I do not have a location, I am putting a ? in the Plot field. This way, I can tell if I have already looked that person up, and know that I have to refer someone to the cemetery record-keeper for the plot.
If you haven't read the FAQs yet, or haven't read them lately, they are updated regularly. You are responsible for reading them and following the instructions in them. Anyone who comes to me with something that is against the FAQs will be ignored.
Please read the below information before sending me corrections or edits. Failure to do so may keep your corrections from being done.
Also, please use the NEW EDIT system... do not send me emails with corrections that can be done by the NEW system... it takes longer and can be done wrong.
Any of the following items that are changeable via the NEW EDIT system are to be sent that way:
Birth/death date, birth/death place
Relationship (parent and spouse links)
Plot or GPS
If you do not send them this way, they may not get done. Please do not use the OTHER option for these items.
Greetings! I am a F.A.G. volunteer for Atchison County, KS. If you have any questions about cemeteries here, feel free to email me and I will try my best to answer.
I am also working on getting the cemeteries from surrounding counties entered / corrected.
Sometimes, real life gets in the way and I may not get something done within a few days... if you haven't heard from me, or a change hasn't been made, after 2 weeks, please send me a reminder.
Please read all notes as they are important...
Thank you and have a great day :)
Most of my memorials were created from the 'Kansas Room burial listings' that are listed in the 'References Used' section below.
Most errors in my memorials are due to transcription errors in that list. I am in the process of correcting the errors from there but it will take a long time and a lot of research.
I am more than happy to make corrections... just be polite about it.
Please do not leave me corrections on this profile page. See below for instructions on how to send corrections... that is the preferred way for me (and for Find A Grave, see FAQs). Thank you.
Please use the Suggest a Correction link on the EDIT tab on a memorial if you'd like to send me questions or suggestions. Any left on my profile page will be ignored.
If I have created a memorial for your immediate family member and you would like it transferred to you, please use the Edit link located in the upper right hand corner of each memorial and the Suggest a Correction (S.A.C.) option.
I have no problem transferring memorials... just ask (and use the S.A.C. link).
Also, if you find any errors I have made, please use the EDIT tab on the memorials to send me a Suggest a Correction. I appreciate people helping me fix errors.
Also please send any additional information you have via the same method and I will add it to the memorial.
All 'Date of Death' fields that were originally from the above sources (books / website) are actually the burial dates. Most cemeteries only record the burial date as that is what they have in their records.
Please let me know when the burial date is incorrect and you know the Death date. Thank you.

|Joyce Kelley||Kelly Cemetery|
I found the map which I have from White Cloud and the picture of George's tombstone. Will post both of them today.
|Joyce Kelley||RE: Kelley Cemetery|
I will go through my Kansas pictures and post the ones I have. Also the stone for George. Thanks for getting me going again. Been busy with work and going to Ohio for research.
Keep in touch.
|Joyce Kelley||RE: Kelley Cemetery|
No, I do not have a photo. There is no cemetery there. Ken and his daughter had found 3 stones so far when we were there the last time in the last 1990's. Ephriam Kelly is buried in the Lafayette Cemetery in Doniphan County. He moved to Kansas after 2 of his sons where hung for murder in southern Indiana. His son Fontanus and his family moved also. Also, Ephriam's daughter and a son, John A. We have been to White Cloud twice.
Wish there was a list of who was buried there, but have not located one.
There is a map with the Kelly Cemetery listed on it. We found it in White Cloud. I have a copy in my files, will try to locate it.
|Joyce Kelley||Kelley Cemetery|
The Kelley Cemetery was located in the northwest corner of White Cloud, Kansas. Kenneth Edie had bought 80 acres of land and there had been a cemetery on this property. He told us the cemetery had been plowed under by the previous owner. Ken and his daughter, Mary, had found some stones and made a little cemetery by a tree and fenced it in. In 1997 they found a stone in the creek:
George R., son of F. & EE. Kelly
Died: July 18, 1863
Aged: 1 year, 4 months, 21 days
My husband's great-great uncle, Ephriam Kelley, and his wife Lydia owned this property in the 1850's.

Elsie was the only Kendig memorial we have found so far. We always look around the area to see if anymore family memorial are there .We have walked about half of the cemetery. We will keep looking. It was a fun day.

|Chris L||RE: Godding info|
OK - I could only find an obit for Mary which indicated her previous married name was REBER and Edgar buried in the same area was her son. I posted the obit on the website and it's pending approval. It does not indicate the first name of her GODDING husband and I couldn't fin obits on either Joseph or George. I went and looked at the old written cemetery records and there are NO names written along with Mary's in the same Lot or lots around her. So all I can conclude right now is that George (who has a headstone) is really George that went by Joseph OR the headstone was engraved incorrectly. My next step is to go to our library again and pull census records to try and connect either George and Joseph and try and figure out which one is correct. Thoughts ???
