I've always loved visiting old cemeteries and I am also a photographer. I just recently discovered there is a name for this: Taphophile!|
I discovered FAG over a year ago and have found so many of my ancestors' graves here. Most of which are in other states that I would not otherwise be able to visit. I love this website and have dedicated myself to some of my local cemeteries. I build memorials for those who don't already have one and add photos to those that already exist. I feel that each of these individuals deserve an honorable place here. There are so many long lost and forgotten people buried here, with stones so worn there is nothing left to read. I make it my mission to identify these people and put a name to their gravestones. And if a family member happens to find a loved one because of my hard work, then I feel my mission was a success!
I will transfer memorials to those that are direct descendants. My photos are available for your personal use such as adding to your Ancestry tree. I feel that anyone can visit a cemetery and take a photo and therefore it is not important to me to "claim a right" to a cemetery photo I have taken, especially if it is your family member and not mine.

You get there off Jefferson. You have to turn off the small dead end street called cottage avenue right before Logan if going west or right after Logan if going east. The street is on the south side of the road. There is another Cemetery on the North side of the street. Cottage is only one block long and dead ends into the entrance of the cemetery. We had no trouble getting in even during the week. In fact it is very well maintained. The big black gates off Logan are not serviceable.
Hope you visit!

Yes, the plants sometimes create a problem. Honestly, it depends on the time of year. If cemetery is overgrown, I don't want to lure out any snakes by rattling any bushes or plants, lol.. I do know what you're saying, though and appreciate all suggestions!
