Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have picked up our families' genealogical reins after my mother spent about 60 of her 100 years painstakingly copying records by hand even before xeroxes were available. Thanks to her we have many original letters, memoirs and memorabilia which my husband and I are now trying to transcribe on to the computer.

Roxanna Wadsworth memorial
Martha, this is the email that was sent to me from Paul Seaton:

I discovered the newly installed grave marker for Roxanna as I was spraying the nearby stones for contamination removal. We normally do not allow burials or grave marker installations without cemetery board approval – we have to account for any indicated burials to the recently formed Illinois Cemetery Oversight Group. Neither The Pecatonica Cemetery Association records nor the Winnebago County Recorder’s office indicate that Roxanna was buried in the Pecatonica Cemetery. There is an existing grave marker for her sister next to where the marker for Roxanna was installed. We are assuming that this marker is a memorial for a burial that could have been somewhere on that lot. We also assume that there was no actual burial of any remains under this new grave marker when it was installed. We appreciate the actions of those who make the extra effort to provide memorials for those who were never, for whatever reason, given a proper marker for their final resting place. We would appreciate three inputs from you or Martha Wetzel. 1. Could Roxanna have been buried in one of the four other cemeteries that are in Pecatonica Township? 2. Could Roxanna have been buried in one of the designated Potters Fields (there are usually no markers and few records for burials in these areas). 3. For maintenance and insurance purposes, we would like to know who produced and who installed the grave marker.

Lind Leader
I am writing in regard to Esther Selma Louise Witte....born 07/29/1899 in Ft Atkinson Jefferson Co Wisconsin....She died in Lind Adams Co Washington 10/01/1903..... Her parents were Ferdinand Witte and Mary Trieloff Witte. Her Grave Site information says there is an Obituary in the Lind Leader 10/02/1903.....I am unable to find any resources that would provide me with that information.....Would you be able to direct me to a Site...?............... Also, I am trying to find additional information.. that would prove connections to relatives ....... Carl August Labes and his wife Wilhelmine Wedeward......... Carl was a witness to the marriage of Ferdinand Witte and Mary Trieloff in Ft Atkinson Wi. and Mary Trieloff Witte was a baptismal sponser for Lisette Louise Emilie Labes ..born in Ft Atkinson on 12/13/1888....she died 07/01/1903 in Lind and there is an obituary also in the Lind Leader..... There are other connections I found in the US Evangelical Lutheran Records in Lind...sponsers and witnesses etc..... But I am now at a DEAD END....any help or direction to other Sites would be GREATLY APPRECIATED..........Cathy Brunt

Labes connection
You may already have been contacted by Cathy Brunt, also from Wisconsin - a cousin of mine. We share a 2x great grandmother whose maiden name was Labes. Another Wedeward has listed our relative on a number of family trees as being related to your family, but with no explanation of proof.

I'm hoping you are willing to collaborate with us/help us to determine the true relationship. Cathy has already found that our great uncle moved from Wisconsin to Lind, Washington, for a few years and that his wife was godparent to Labes baptisms, etc. There must be a connection!

RSVP as time permits - thank you.

Charlotte Stover
Dear Mrs. Wetzel:

Are you related to Charlotte Stover? I'm related to her sister Amelia Jane Stover.

I was delighted to see a picture of Charlotte. I only have one of Amelia Jane when she was elderly. Do you happen to have any other family photos of the Stovers?

I'd be happy to share Stover information with you.

RE: Connect Wedeward siblings
I will transfer Wilhelmine Wedward Labes and Caroline Schulz to your management. If there are other family members memorials you would like, I will transfer those as well, just let me know which ones you want.
