I research many family lines>> They come from Pa to NC/TN, from KY to TX.Willing to take those of my family lines, extended families & those in our Smothers Tribe DNA project to manage when I run across them. I am glad to submit various family memorials as the info is gathered & given to me. It is my passion as a genial genealogist to assist others as much as possible. |
..I like this from members pages "Let's make it a goal to add as much info, as we can possibly document, to these memorials."
.."I enjoy reading contributors Bio's but it's called that for a reason but Not, to use the space to reiterate guidelines by a contributor who feels the need to preach to others about how they should make their memorials. Believing we are all adults & know the guidelines most all do act accordingly & do not need preaching."
.."Any and all info or pics I have uploaded are meant for SHARING! I just don't understand anyone thinks different, if you don't want to share, than DON'T put them on a public site!"
Death certificates may be added via the "Add a photo" button on the memorial page. [that should end that discussion]I like DC for info and guides esp if one died young, why? It's important to visitors and family, esp if some inherited health issue family needs to know. DNA test called 23and me helps families know inherited fatal issues; passed from generations down.
"The Dash" based on little line on tombstone, between the dates of birth-death; ultimately, is a symbol represents each day spent alive on earth; how one spends the "dash" is what really matters; memorials hopefully give a glimpse into lives of that DASH!
Living on a working ranch, happily retired; heartfelt Passion for Genealogy; immensely enjoy working with members, helping folks connect with their ancestors; happy to make links, corrections & transfers. Esp appreciative of gravestone photographers; big Cudos!!Many kind thanks leaving flowers of ancestor memorials!
PS-Not sure WHO deleted my pet peeve of going to my memorials, signing MY name and adding a forget me not flower I do NOT have in my scrapebook, but STOP IT! IT'S BEING DONE AGAIN PLUS DELETING SOME OF MY OWN SCRAPEBOOK FLOWERS!

I'm sorry for the problem you're having, some people just enjoy harassing others.
Anyone can add a flower to any memorial, then sign any name they want to, it doesn't have to be their own name. But no one can delete the flowers you have added to memorials, only you can do that.
So if your flowers are being deleted, then someone with Find A Grave administration is doing it. They can do anything they want but if it continued, I would write them and ask why they are doing this. At least you would receive an explanation.
I know one is not supposed to add biographical information to flowers, this info should be sent to the person managing the memorial so they can include it in the memorial itself. It may be something like this, but I don't know why they don't just contact you about it instead of reporting it. Good luck.

I did not report this "flower" to Find-A-Grave!!! I've never reported anything like this to Find A Grave; I believe in contacting the person about it, if something needs to be resolved. You have been very accommodating in requests from me. But it seems like someone may be targeting you for harassment.
Your message to me.....
..."WHY did you do this? gees, all one had to do was ask ME!
am always willing to be corrected IF ASKED!
This flower has been reported to Find A Grave administration for review.
Fannie named for mother who died in childbirth w/her"...

Brawner m. Garrison born Aug 27 1907 died April 8, 2003 or 2005 the letters have a lot of wear. When I zoom in they get blurry. Hope this helps!

Here ya go.....
Alfred Lee Truitt

WORLD WAR I
Looks like his father's grave was behind his. I photographed several of the Truitts while there if you want any.
Check the listing on here for that cemetery. I searched this cemetery for another name & don't remember seeing a Brightwell but some of the headstones are in bad shape. If there is one you want I can contact the church & see if they have a record.
