Update February 2020:
How bout them Chiefs!!!
My cemetery buddy, Doug Rutherford, and I have now photographed every cemetery we could locate in Randolph, Macon and Monroe counties, also some in Boone, Chariton & Audrain counties. If you know the location of a cemetery that has not been photographed, or could use re-photographing, please let me know. We try to probe and unearth any hidden stones. We are especially looking for the forgotten farm cemeteries. Thanks!

Update January 2015:

After being a member for several years, the following are my own personal "guidelines":

Anyone may copy any photos I have posted for personal use - no credit required. It does my heart good to see them included in someone's family tree since the main reason I try to do my part in this is to help people who have passed on be remembered.

I will usually transfer memorials for those outside my own family lines, even to those who are not within the Findagrave four generation policy, including people who may have been just friends. However, please be sure that you intend to actually add something to enhance the memorials. It's frustrating to transfer an entire family to someone, only to later discover that nothing has been done with them. I check for Edits almost daily and usually accept them quickly.

I am guilty of adding duplicates, but none are intentional. Most of my memorials come from photographing an entire cemetery, and though I try to search for each one before adding it, sometimes duplicates happen. There is no need to be rude, just a friendly notification like This is a duplicate" will be enough to have me delete mine. I am also guilty of typo's, for which I apologize. I regret not being more careful.

When I photograph a cemetery, I try to take both a distance shot and a closeup shot. I frequently add the distance shots to memorials that already have a closeup. This is not meant to imply that the first photo is not good enough. My only intent is to hopefully help future visitors to the cemetery be able to locate a grave they wish to visit. If any photos I post offend anyone, I will gladly remove them at the creator's request.

I have started virtual cemeteries for military veterans buried in Boone, Chariton, Howard, Macon, and Randolph counties. These are far from complete, so if you know of a veteran in those counties, please let me know if I don't already have them.

For those contributors who take it upon themselves to be the Findagrave police, adding a please and thank you would go a long way.

Thanks to those who help make Findagrave such a pleasant, fulfilling labor of love! Wishing you all a blessed 2015...

Update Feb 2014:
I've been told that people have hesitated to contact me since my step-son's death in September. Please feel free to do so, as I am still working on Findagrave almost daily. It has been a saving grace, and I very much appreciate the kindness and caring of the Findagrave community.

Update October 2013:
Please visit my virtual cemetery for "Jake the Great", created for my step-son lost to a series of circumstances resulting in him taking his own life on September 10, 2013. Jacob's bio contains a letter written by his father, and it is our hope that it may help prevent this from happening to another family. Please pass it on to whoever you think may benefit from it. Thanks, and God Bless.

Since 2007, I have been dedicated to locating, listing and photographing all the Randolph County, Missouri cemeteries I am able to get to. I have completed listings, with photos of each stone, of about 155 cemeteries so far, mainly to provide the county historical societies with updated listings and accurate locations. I am just starting to put these on findagrave, and in the interest of saving time, have only entered the name and years for now. I have more info for most of these memorials, which I hope to add and link as time allows. It is my thinking that having just the names and dates posted may help someone find their relatives. I am very willing to transfer memorials to relatives, even distant ones....just ask and let me know how you are related. I will be glad to fulfill photo requests as I am able to, so if you are looking for someone in a particular cemetery, please feel free to contact me.

Please use the Edit/Suggestion tab to send info or to request transfers. Thanks!
