"When you remember me, it means that you have carried something of who I am with you, that I have left some mark of who I am in who you are. It means that even after I die, you can still see my face and hear my voice and speak to me in your heart." Fredrick Beekner|
First of all, I would like to thank the creator of Find A Grave Jim Tipton, for the wonderful online site, then all of the many volunteers that give freely of their time, knowledge, and efforts on behalf of people looking/searching for answers and hoping to breathe life back into their ancestors, walking cemeteries, taking photos, editing photos uploading and creating memorials.
Find a Grave is a free and an extremely useful tool for genealogy!!! They are in our favor....meaning FAG is "for" us. Kept up by a United community of genealogists, historians, (beginners and experts) all of which of course, are VOLUNTEERS. We do not get paid for what we do here.
Creating memorials and fulfilling photo requests is a labor of love for me. If you appreciate something I've added, please pay it forward! If you receive "freely", give "freely"
I firmly believe that our ancestors deserve more than just dates on their memorials. It is because of that I try to add as much information as is available to me. Thank you for either your help or your understanding when I fall short.
When making CORRECTIONS & TRANSFERS
Please click the "Edit" tab on the individual memorial, then the "Suggest A Correction" link on the specific memorial you would like me to update or transfer. PLEASE DO NOT SEND CORRECTIONS AS PUBLIC MESSAGES
If I SUGGEST A CORRECTION to you, please do not merely copy and paste the info into the bio. Dates and places belong in the appropriate fields so they can help others locate the memorial. Maiden names and links to parents are also helpful. If you want to see my sources please just ask. You can also check the memorial, as over the last three years I have been trying to give credit to those that submit valid info in the bio of the memorial.
I spend a lot of time traveling, photographing, editing and posting my photos because I love doing it. It also gives me a lot of satisfaction if I can help others find their family. I do not mind if you use the photos for PERSONAL use, but if you wish to publish or repost them, please ask prior to doing so.
I do not transfer to requesters who are rude/demanding, have no profile or who are collectors -- however,I'll always update and link memorials within a day or two or as time allows.
Transfer requests should also be requested on the "edit" tab. Include your relationship, and your contributor name and number.
I know how to add links and copy and paste biographies, so if updating is the only reason for your request, please send the info, and I will add it. Creating a duplicate is not the answer, create instead a virtual cemetery to gather your loved ones in.
Remember, those of us who list these memorials are only human, sometimes we make mistakes, let us know, and Never forget: We Are Volunteers. VOLUNTEERS. Our time and work are given freely.
The quote of Fredrick Beekner is borrowed from my cousin Mike Perkins memorial.
I am of the belief that no one is truly gone, until they are forgotten.
So with all this said, I will continue to visit cemeteries and take photos of graves, and hope someday to find more of my family, and maybe some of yours. Until then I will remain.... Calmly Searching..........

I appreciate you added the links and for all you do for Find a Grave!
|Diana Henry Diedrich||RE: Ralph Zoll|
Ralph Zoll was my G uncle. I realize he is "outside" Find A Grave guidelines, but I have researched the entire family, not just my grandparents etc. as I'm sure have also.
Thanks Diana 48300318

It is your Bio I was talking about. You explained things very nicely.
I think when Find a Grave volunteers put in so much time adding memorials and photos, they should be recognized for what they do. You wrote a long Bio and I appreciate it. I personally have not run into any problems with others, but I also only work on my on family, that is all the time I seem to have.
The only issue I have is the owners are soooo backed up they take months to reply.

Thanks for the info I have asked for the other one to be deleted

I forgot to mention that the photos you took are also very helpful in documenting the history of my mother's side of the family, and wanted to ask if it would be possible for me to post your photo of the gravemarker of my aunt and uncle on my family tree. I would be happy to give you credit however you see fit. Thank you in advance for your response and, again, many thanks for making the trip. It was lovely to see not just the gravemaker, but the photos you took of the view around where they rest.
