Bio Photo **September 7th, 2016**

My mom died this morning. Please, if at all possible, keep the edits to a minimum, because I'm going to be away for a while. My heart is broken.

Please note the above photograph. This is why I do not add "unmarked" to my memorials. I have, on a few dozen occasions thus far, come across stones for allegedly unmarked graves. Please do not ask. Thank you.

Burial Unknown designation is meant for cases in which the final disposition will be known within 30 days. Please don't use the site for genealogy when you don't know the location of burial. That's what Ancestry is for.

If I post a photo when there is already a photo up, it's because I feel my photo offers something, whether it be more recent condition of the stone or a higher resolution so inscriptions can be better deciphered. I hope that folks will post photos to mine, too. No newer obits (or newer obit pics!), though--against the rules. Please feel free to send them to me, and I will extract pertinent info.

Please, please, please adhere to the site's naming conventions. Putting more than one married name in the last name field (or sticking it in the maiden or middle name field) messes up searches and leads folks to create duplicates. The pertinent FAQ can be found HERE

As per the site FAQ, my photos are mine. Please do not move them, repost them to other memorials, etc. without first asking. If you want one of my pictures posted to another memorial, ask me, and I will gladly post it for you. Thank you.

Michael and Mary Nourse
Hello, I wanted to extend my deepest condolences for your loss.

I noticed you have Mary Rittenhouse Nourse as one of your memorials. Are you possibly related? Would you be willing to allow me to help edit? I have much info and things to share for her and her husband. They are my 5th great grandparents.

RE: Edna Olive Anderson Parrish
Yes! I do have an edit to add them as parents. I also have one for Helmer, Elwood, Harry, Laura Tait along with Edna Parrish.
In addition I found that Gottfried's memorial and Ogden City Record have his name spelled, Gottfred.

Cheers, Betty

May I use the monument photo that you contributed to the Find A Grave memorial for Frederick Bickford, to post on the Vermont Civil War site? (

You will receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration.

RE: Robert Clelland, Sr Family
First Presbyterian Church of Pittston, Pa: Historical Discourse by Reverend N. G. Parke, published June 12, 1876. Listed amongst the congregation members are Robert Clelland, Sr, Ann Clelland, Robert Clelland Jr., James Clelland, and Mrs. James Clelland. It seems at least possible that our "Mrs. Clelland" is Ann Clelland, wife of Robert Clelland Jr.

1. Robert Clelland Sr. (I believe that "Ann Clelland" is Robr. Sr. 2nd wife. -- A Robert Sr Clelland and his wife Ann Clelland are enumerated in the 1880 Pittston, PA Fed census)) There is evidence that Mary Ann Hunter Clelland died in 1862. "Ann" also could be Robert SR's daughter and a sister to Robert Jr.

2. Robert Clelland Jr is the son of Robr. Sr. Apparently Lucy Jane was not a member of the church.

3. James Clelland, I think is a brother to Robert Clelland SR. I am not sure that this is the same James---A James H, Clelland died 3 Feb. 1889 at the age of 44. He had a wife and children.
His wife's name was Janet (Mills) Clelland

RE: Robert Clelland, Sr Family
I do have one questions--Robert Jr.'s memorial (# 145793072) has his mother listed in the bio as "Mary A. Hunter." How does that jibe with Lucy Jane Holcomb? Was she a second wife to Robert Sr.?

This is correct. Robert Jr Clelland is the son of Robert Clelland Sr. and Mary Ann Hunter.
Robert Jr. married Lucy Jane Holcomb, 1st wife, and Martha "Mattie" Holcomb, 2nd wife--they were sisters.
Hope this helps.
