Done. I also added her parents.
I absolutely ABHOR the new search. I've actually been very depressed this last week. I'm retired and can spend as much time as I like doing this, but the fun is gone...

Thanks for helping me with my after-life family reunion project by linking W.C. Ray to his wife Mattie Adams Ray!

Thank you so much for linking him to his parents...Orza

Thanks for your note. It doses make sense. Amazing how one piece of the puzzle changes one's outlook on family history.
What misled me, is that William was lsted as a son. It always help to play with a full deck.
Now I can go into my family tree on Ancestry.com and correct this error. You don't mind if I place your e-mail in William's bio on my family tree to explain his birh? I'm sure there are other researchers that has gone down the same rosey path.
Yes, we are distance cousins and our paths crosses with John Hill and Jane Dodson. Cynthia Hill is a sister to my 2nd great-grandfather, Chrismon Hill, who is also buried in Bates County as William is, just different cemeties.
I was out earlier today searching for the marker for Sarah. I just wanted you to know that I found her husband's headstone in Plot Addition 5 and did not find a stone for her there. So if she has a marker, she must not be buried next to him. If she is buried next to him, she has no marker. There was already a photo uploaded for husband so I didn't add one. Thanks for your time.

You are most welcome. I will be putting a transcript together sometime in the future. Really appreciate your contributions. There were only about 20 names listed in this cemetery before I started this project. My fiancee is related to the Starretts in that area.

Hi, No, not blood related. Your Grandma's sister Anna Farinette Whatley married Robert Elsdon Attlesey, The Attlesey's are my mothers family, they come from Soham in Cambridgeshire England. Robert's father was Edward Attlesey b 1820 in Soham. Edward's paternal grandparents took their 4 orphaned grandchildren to the US in 1836, brave of them as they were both in their 60's & it was a 3 month sea journey. Edward's parents were William Attlesey & Ann Elsden, which probably accounts for the middle name of Anna Whatley's husband, the name got passed down to a few of the later generations in the family in the US and I doubt that any of them know where it came from, which is a pity.I saw the lovely photograph of your grandma, do you mind if I add it to my tree on Ancestry (it's not a public tree), I've got a few photo's of the Whatley family. My email address is email@example.com if you want any more info'.Cheers Silvia. (Good luck with the election results)
