I became fascinated with Vermillion County many years ago. My people settled there in 1839. They travel in groups and came from Caledonia County, VT. I have visited the area 3 times. I started borrowing the microfilm with the old newspaper Hoosier State to find information on my various families. It started in 1868. I then decided to abstract information on all the families to help others with their research. I have completed books through 1895 and plan on continuing through 1900. I am trying to add as many obits to entries on Find a Grave as I can. I have various lists for many of the cemeteries in the area. My people settled in Helt Township which includes many cemeteries that I don't have complete lists for. I also abstracted the Wills through 1927. I will check for you if you send me the name. I wish I lived closer, but I live just north of San Francisco.

I just copied a film on early New Jersey Cemetery readings. I am in the process of updating and adding to Find a Grave.

re Shepard.
First the memorial number for the DUP you gave was incorrect.
My memorial is made directly from the marker at the cemetery. No error there.
As I see it mine is good as it stands.

I am so happy to find my fourth great grandmother. Lua is her daughter that took care of her. On On a marriage record of William Hammond her second husband. Lua`s last name was spelled as Groves. They have her first name as Leuey in census and marriage records. But her name is Lua. She was a very funny lady.Married first to a Isaac Lawler who only lived 25 years. He died of a heart attack. Was born in Ireland.I am related threw him. My mother is a Lowler. Spelled different now. Lay and ISAAC s only child was Everett Merton Lawler. Born Dec. 22, 1847' Everett was only a year or two years old when his father died. Everett was a quiet man who never talked about the Civil War he faught in.He was a blacksmith. Married to Maggie AMerica Fulwider. HER people were from Virginia and were wagon makers. Later the Fulwiders and Everett Lawler moved to OKlahoma to homestead. They left Indiania by covered wagon with slot of other people on WAGON TRAIN or team of wagons. The Fulwiders stayed and Everett moved back to Indiania when Maggie died and younger son Orin died 6 months later of same thing. He remarried , but each time he married they died. Lua and Phoebe had the same thing happen to them. So they took care of each other in old age.I am having a hard time finding any info. On Isaac Lawler. No grave found yet or marriage record.Lua is supposed to be buried in Newport Indiania.Lua second husband William Hammand could of died in the Civil War. They had four girls Mary, Margaret, Sarah, and Phoebe. What happened to them. No one talks of them
Everett was born in Colerain, Belmont Co., Ohio. LUA remarried ON JAnuary 1st, 1849 in Belmont co, Ohio. To William Hammond Their girls were born in 1850's. William Hammond disappears too like the girls. Some were born in Illinois. So Isaac had to die in 1848.Lua later married a man last name of Bailey. For any one interested. And exchange information for records. So I am glad we found Lua,s mother Phoebe Miller. What was her maiden name? Claudia Nagy-Trujillo of Colorado

RE: William Fisher
Thanks for your reply. I was going to go to the cemetery today to look for a headstone but the weather is too bad. Would you consider e-mailing me the page that has William Fisher's name on it?

William Fisher
Carolyn,

You created a memorial for my G, G, G, G uncle William Fisher. I have been looking for his burial location for years. What information did you find that made you create the memorial?

Kyle
