OK..so I've been doing Find-a-Grave for a while now and have decided to change my bio a bit.|
Here are my thoughts on this stuff.
Relax..enjoy what you're doing otherwise you should stop before you get too far into it. No man is an island and this certainly can't be done alone. Rather than complain about someone's work...help them with it.
TRANSFERS: I transfer on a case by case decision. If for any reason, you can't maintain the memorials I've transferred to you, I'll be more than happy to take it back...please don't ask for a transfer of group surnames.
PICTURES: If I've taken a picture or attached a document ... please help yourself...no need to give me credit. I don't need to toot my horn or have it tooted. I've added them to the memorials for everyone to use. If you want to attach a picture to my memorials that are better than mine...please do so. I welcome them, but keep in mind I might use them in Ancestry.com if they're in my family tree. MY ONLY REQUEST IS THAT MY PICTURES AREN'T LIFTED AND PLACED ONTO A DUPLICATE MEMORIAL OR MEMORIAL LISTED AS UNKNOWN....thanks again in advance.
EDITS: If there are errors in any of the memorials that I've entered please let me know. I'll be glad to correct them as well as make any changes necessary. PLEASE USE THE EDIT BUTTON.
FLOWERS: PLEASE PLEASE don't use the flower section as a place to add a bio for the memorial...that isn't where it belongs. If I happen to come across one on a memorial that I've created, I will ask you to remove it. I'll gladly add it to the bio...just send me an EDIT. If it isn't deleted in a timely amount of time I will ask email@example.com to remove it.
DUPLICATES: Duplicates happen...it's impossible not to happen. We've all created duplicates. I will gladly delete mine IF IT WAS CREATED AFTER YOUR MEMORIAL. Please keep in mind that some duplicate memorials are actually cenotaphs.
It's hard for me to understand that these memorials belong to any one person....I believe they belong to "all" of us.
A sincere THANK YOU to all the Find a grave volunteers for all the hard work, help and dedication that you've given me.

I am trying to update the burial maps of Colebrook Village Cemetery (since Nancy Dodge's book of 1985). I know Ruth Putnam 1906-1989 is buried there from a burial permit but I don't know if you might know her location. Thanks for any help.

Hi Connie, Thank you for pointing that out. I will research this. They could be waiting for the husband to pass. Karen

Awesome! I was wondering if you knew who she was. I will move him and also link him to her. Denise.

I have gone and made a change to his memorial. I was given the burial info from another Find A Grave volunteer; but ... I trust your sources. AND I also checked through the National Locator.
Enjoy your photo -- and the memories from it. I highly suspect the snow will be sliding off the shrink-wrap on our boats soon!
Take care. And thank you.

I just love it.

It's ok! I deleted and added the photo to the correct person :)

Ah, okay I see, they had the last name spelled wrong. I sent Barb the corrections and deleted my memorial.

Found where he was interred and created a record for him. :-)
|Kenneth Joseph Raposa||DNA Testing|
DNA "does not lie" - It has been very helpful in connecting adopted children to connect with their biological parents and other relatives. On a personal I do find it interesting but find that I have more cousins than what I know what to do with. Of course your results only connect to others which have also done the test on Ancestry. Either way it is a win win.
Would it be possible to grant me "guest" access to your ancestry tree. I would love to investigate and share TARDIF notes. My name on ancestry is:
Kenneth Joseph Raposa
It amazes me when I look at the photo of Joseph Tardif and my his sister (my gr grandmother) Marie Louise (Tadif) Bernier. Today I finally found the resting places of their parents.
Have a great night. Ken
|Crystal Jarrett Inman||Refusal To Transfer A Family Member That Is Not Yours|
Shame on you, Connie Lagasse Russell.
I just read your remarks to a person that was requesting a transfer of their aunt or uncle. You refused to transfer them because Find a Grave's policy states you do not have to transfer an aunt or uncle. That is a ridiculous policy anyway. It totally annoys me that there are people like you adding family members, that are not yours. I do not care if it is a aunt, uncle, or whomever it shall be. Family is Family. If this is the way you are going to be, maybe you need to get a real job and stop sticking your nose into other peoples business. You must not have a heart. This just happened to me. I can not believe that there are people who sit around adding dead people into Find A Grave; that do not even belong to YOU! And when a family member asks for the transfer, who do you think you are to refuse them. I could go on and on and on about this. Say your prayer, ask for forgiveness, and get a heart!
