Bio and Links
Bio Photo My family and I enjoy researching our family history. We've found findagrave.com to be very helpful. If you have something to add to any of my postings, please contact me. I have, and encourage, a liberal transfer policy. If you are related and I'm not, a transfer is in order. Feel free to use any of my photos.

Principle areas of research are Blinston(e), Hope, Connolly, Kasich, Hardin, Cornwall, Messinger, McCaleb/McKillop, Edwards, Wooton/Wooten, Willard.

Findagrave.com has become a mainstay of my family history research. Thanks to all my fellow findagraver's out there for the fabulous work you do. We all benefit from each other's work.

RE: McCaleb Graves
Jim,

You are welcome. I could not find William McCaleb in Schencks Cemetery. I sent a message to the funeral home that provided his service. They did not respond. His marker is missing and was not found when the Centre County Genealogical Society read the cemetery. Records for him are available somewhere because he was moved from the old cemetery to the present one when a flood control dam was built in the 1960's. I will keep looking.--Storres

Fir Crest Cemetery Association
My Dad [Milton Neiland Kelly] 2008, is there now and we learned it is a county property run by a volunteer committee.
I would recommend contacting the Funeral Home (http://www.farnstrommortuary.com/obituaries/allobituaries.php) or The City of Monmouth (see Facebook page) or The Polk County Historical Museum in Rickreall, Oregon just up the Hwy99. Fircrest is off the old Hwy 99, on a hill.

The Monmouth Library also has some basic information of the history. Hope this information is helpful to you.

RE: McCaleb Graves
Jim,

You are welcome and thank you for acknowledging the photos. I am working on finding a location in Schencks Cemetery for William McCaleb. His grave is unmarked and I have a request to the local funeral director for his plot and burial.--Storres

Fir Crest, Polk County OR
Do you know who the sexton is for this cemetery or is administered by a village or county? Thanks, Grace I picked you because you had entered a lot of the records for it.

Hi there Jim,
You uploaded a picture of my grandfathers, great grandmother and great uncles grave. I was curious as to if someone requested that you do this, if you had any relation or what your reasoning was.

thank you
