Fallen Graver

Sadly, George Morgan has passed away. Please consider visiting their Find a Grave memorial page and leaving some virtual flowers. Their enthusiasm for cemeteries and willingness to help future generations lives on through their contributions to Find a Grave.

Bio

Retired in May 2008 after 34 years of Government Service -- 11.5 years as an Army Officer, 22.5 years as a Department of Defense Intelligence Officer (DIA, NIMA, and NGA). Married with two grown children and three grandchildren. Currently residing in a small town in Southwest Arkansas. Interested in documenting family and community history through cemetery searches.

About transferring Memorials -- Generally I am fine with transferring memorials (save for those that I have created for family members). If seeking a transfer, please give me the Find A Grave memorial number AND your own contributor number. Please determine if you really need for management to be transferred. Transferring of management should only be requested if you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. If you do have extensive additions/changes to make to a memorial, please contact the me via the "Suggest a Correction" link under the "Edit" tab on the memorial in question with your request to have the memorial management transferred to you. Be sure to include the reason for your request. Please don't send a vague note demanding that I transfer your relative's memorial to you and then expect me to guess which one of my Find A Grave entries your relative might be, while making me hunt down your contributor number on top of it. It ain't gonna happen.

What I am not fine with are requests to transfer entire cemeteries. I've gotten notes to the effect, "I'm related to a some people at _____ Cemetery, so just transfer the entire cemetery to me." While I don't mind transferring a few people, transferring an entire cemetery is a time consuming exercise since each memorial has to be individually transferred. Please don't ask for that. If you request an entire cemetery or a large number of memorials to be transferred, you can expect to get a note from me asking why you didn't take the time to create all of the memorials in question, particularly if I have taken the time to photograph the headstones in the entire cemetery. And rude notes like "Gimme that whole cemetery and hurry up with it!" are not going to get a response from me at all.
